Weird Al has been the top name in musical parodies for 30 years, and it's well-known that he always asks artists for their blessing before spoofing them on his albums. Well, Lady Gaga just said no.
On his blog, Weird Al describes the unprecedented hoops he jumped through to get Gaga's approval for a "Born This Way" parody, including actually recording the finished song so she could hear it (a Weird Al first). After all that, Gaga nixed the track, called "Perform This Way."
Well, Al has posted his song on YouTube, because he doesn't want the recording to be a total waste. As you can hear for yourself, the track pokes fun at Gaga's crazy fashions and bigger-than-life image in typical Weird Al style. There's nothing too harsh here, and Al even planned to donate proceeds from the song to the Human Rights Campaign in honor of the positive message of Gaga's original song. Still not good enough for Lady Gaga, though. This is a new world record for how seriously one person who has worn an egg dress in public can take herself.
UPDATE:
Gaga has now approved the parody -- apparently her manager never even passed it on to her! -- and Weird Al can go on with his album release and the video for this song!

I understand Lady Gaga is actually a man in drag...Could that be why "she" is more masculine than Justin Bieber???

Lady Gaga love her fans very much too. I've watched some of her interviews and she mentioned how much she love her fans.
