We recently showed you a video of a pug who desperately wanted pizza but didn't get any. In retrospect, that was probably cruel to you dog-lovers out there. If you were one of the folks rooting for the dog to get the pizza, this video is for you.
With nobody around to guard the fridge at night, this doggie sneaks into the kitchen, opens up the refrigerator door, and snags a piece for himself. That's definitely one heck of a clever dog, but the jerk didn't even close the door when he was done!

This is nothing unusual for Labradors. I've owned, loved, bred & shown Labs since 1987 & they will do ANYTHING within their power to get/steal food no matter where it is.

I also have a dog that steals food. Cosmo opens the pantry. I moved all the tasty stuff from the bottom shelf. Cosmo didn't care what he got tho.
Came home to a sticky mess last week. He got into the honey and then decided to have instant oatmeal. His face was covered with oatmeal fakes. Got to love them!

A correctly installed fridge is slightly higher in the front that the back, just enough so the door will gently swing closed on its own. Had this fridge been at properly installed, the door would have bumped closed on poochie, and chased him away, leaving the pizza for me :-)

This was set up by the owner. 1.) The pizza box opening faced the front of the fridge. 2.) The pizza was cut into a small piece, easy enough for a small dog to retrieve without messing up. It's cute, but fake.
Please do not call the dog a "jerk." S/he is trained to open the fridge door and retrieve food. Someone was there with a camera, too.

WELL, aren't you a barrel of fun ......... Dogs are smarter than you I do believe. My dog actually does close the door after she come in ALL BY HERSELF.

That is not a pug. It looks like a Min Pin or some other small terrier.

If you re-read the article, no one said it was a pug. They refered to another video where the pug did not get the pizza. Personally, I did not think the pizza was all that small. Cute video.

Okay, the pizza was sliced because that's how the pizza delivery people send it. Already sliced. It was a regular piece which if you had eyes you could see. I have a refrigerator properly installed but the door is so heavy, it often opens all the way and I have to chase it OR it keeps closing on me while I'm in the fridge so I leave it as is.
And I don't know about you but I don't wrap my leftover pizza. If I think it will be gone the next day, I put it in the fridge in the box and YES the opening faces forward. Why bother to turn it.
Honestly people, just enjoy the animals.

I know that a lot of people think this is cute (it *is* clever), but were it my dog he would have to be baby-gated in somewhere after that. As clever as it is (staged or not), it would make me a little mad. I have a Golden Retriever that I adore, but there are boundaries.

I don't think the dog was trained to do this. If you notice there is a piece of duct tape on the top of the door. It was probably useful for a time - but looks like it needs replacing. Or a baby guard needs to be used.
