If you're a child in Japan right now, you've got a lot of stuff on your plate. There was the earthquake, the tsunami, and if things got really bad maybe your house is flooded or you're worried about your friends' safety. Now on top of all of that, there's something going on with the nuclear plants. How are you gonna understand it all?
With a cartoon, of course! A cartoon about a boy who has really bad gas! And his poop is toxic, so the doctors really don't want him to poop!
According to The Daily What, they've been airing 'Nuclear Boy' on national TV in an effort to explain the current crisis to children, and while it might work for now, I'm pretty sure these kids are gonna have a lot of unanswered poop-related questions later in life when they reach the nuclear power unit in science class.

That is THE funniest cartoon I've seen in a long time. Chernobyl Boy.. I've never laughed about that catastrophe before but seeing Chernobyl personified as an incontinent kid running wild caught me by surprise. It's interesting to see how they mixed humor with sincerity.
From a kid's eye view it explains a very serious matter in a way that both entertains and puts things in a way that lets them know roughly what's happening so they can hear adults talk about the event, without worrying them with details they don't need to know. Very creative. Weird, but I think it'll work.
