So you haven't been able to get Rebecca Black's tween pop blunder of a song, "Friday," out of your head, and I sincerely apologize. I feel partly responsible for contributing to this viral wildfire with yesterday's post. Which was posted on a Monday... which comes after Sunday... and Tuesday comes afterward (see the awful video in case you forgot the order of the days of the week).
Who in their right mind would allow such a mind-numbing trainwreck of a song come into existence? I have been asking myself this question for two days now, and if you are looking to point fingers or praise those responsible for your hot new ringtone, you have Los Angeles-based Ark Music Factory to thank.
If I understand correctly how the "discovery" process goes for finding such "talent," it starts with a spoiled tween with wealthy parents who would do anything to fulfill their child's dream of becoming a pop starlet. From there, they contact the terrorists at Ark Music Factory and pay a fortune to have their kid flown out to LA to produce their first war crime against music.
While Rebecca Black's song "Friday," may be the worst thing to come from AMF, it isn't the first of its kind. I've posted some of the lesser evil gems from a few other teenie-bopping pop stars that AMF helped to create. These really aren't as bad as "Friday," but they aren't great by any standard. Just thought you might like to hear a few more Ark Music Factory quality tunes. Enjoy! Or should I say, endure!

It's not just the awfulness of the videos themselves, it's the shameless way that one of the producers, Patrice Wilson, sticks his gratuitous rap bridge into nearly EVERY song. To top it all off, he's scheduled to be the next "featured artist" on the ARK Music Factory web site. So hey mommy and daddy, I guess the career you're really paying those untold thousands of dollars to launch is HIS.

Isn't this the sort of scam that they made entire episodes about on all the shows I used to love? I guess some parents need to watch more TV. ZING!
