year of the beard kid grows beard for a year and takes a photo every dayA student filmmaker at Carleton College decided to grow his beard out for an entire year on a bet, and ended up taking a photo of himself every day and editing them into a time-lapse video. His vid, "Year of the Beard," won second place in the school's film competition.

The beard itself is pretty impressive. You'd never imagine from looking at the guy in his cleanshaven state that he'd be capable of growing such a mighty tangle of hair. Looking for quirks in the individual frames is also fun: try to spot the chainmail and the Santa hat.

As time-lapses go, "Year of the Beard" isn't as poignant as, say, Noah Kalina's "Noah K. Everyday," ... but this one has a beard!
