Beyblade is a Japanese Manga series that has become popular among American children due to the branded spinning top toys associated with the cartoon. The toys come with a little plastic arena to spin around on, and the object of the game is to knock the other guy's spinning top out of the arena. But what if you want to have a truly epic battle?
A couple of kids expanded their playing field by using the family bathtub as an arena. Here's the problem: When the toys spun, their metal bottoms tore up the enamel on the tub. When mom got a $500 repair estimate, she decided to make the kids pay by giving up their allowance and selling all their toys on eBay. Above is a photo of the devastated children putting their Beyblade toys up for auction.
And then 4chan, the notoriously anarchic and prank-fueled message board, found the auction and decided to have a little fun with it.

I just don't like the fact that she posted a picture of her kids, one of them crying online, so the whole wide world can see it. she could have just took a pic of the beyblades in the bag instead of having the kids in there too.
The description could be much more descreet like "Selling my kids beyblades for destroying bath tub. Don't playing these in bath tub." And that would be it. Short and simple.
Why did the price even have to be mentioned? That part should be keep secret. It's as if people would show sympathy to the mom.

I am all for it...way to go Mom... all to often children get away with everything because parents don't want to get reported to CPS and end up trying to being the kids friends. Parents are not friends...they are parents.
It is parents job to teach children to grow up and be responsible adults. How many people out there do we all know who we can plainly see have not been brought up right.
Good for those who actually teach children that they need to respect people maybe if more people stood up for what is right...we would have a better community.

I could understand doing something drastic as a punishment if the kids were older and if they had purposely and maliciously destroyed something of much greater value in a criminal way. But all these kids did was strip enamel off of a tub. It wasnt malicious, it wasnt criminal, and it sure wasnt anything that kids there age everywhere arent prone to do. Grounding them and taking their allowance as well as keeping the offending toys until their grounding ended I can see. But publicly selling all of their toys on ebay and having pictures of them for all the world to see( so that they can look forward to school bullies and even their friends teasing and making fun of them of for the conceivable future, is just abuse plain and simple. The mom needs her kids taken from her. If she cant discipline her children in any other way than what she did then she should not have kids in the first place.

Wow, when my child got his Bey Blades and the stadium we played with it for a while and then we, together, put them into the bathtub. Thought was, if this little stadium is such a good arena the a LARGER stadium would be totally rocking.
Maybe she should try playing WITH her children !!!!
Does she really think that these boys actually planned to tear up her precious tub ???
I hope she and her tub will be very happy together !
What kind of mother chooses material things over her child ?!

Good for her! A little humiliation isn't such a bad thing. For all any of us know she is a good mother who decided to nip bad behavior in the bud and maybe they had already pushed her a little too far. Kids learn early how to push the envelope and some test it more than others. This is not cruel and unusual punishment just creative. When I was growing up getting your a** whipped was common. They're lucky as far as I'm concerned.

Good for MOM! When my son (14) was caught shoplifting Nintendo game books I told him to put all his game stuff in a box so I could put it in storage. That was a Sunday afternoon. When I left for work on Monday morning the box was on the end of the couch. When I got home that evening I went to get the box so I could take it over to storage but it was gone. When I asked my son where it was, he said he put it in the dumpster that morning before school but he could go get it. I just looked at him and explained, the garbage gets picked up on Monday mornings. I never purchased him another game system. The next one he got was purchased with his own money. He is now 27 and and has never been in trouble again.

I dont think that the mom pulled a dick move at all. Im sure everyone has seen the horrible moms that are out there. Killing kids for no reason and leaving them in cars. A mom sold the toys that destroyed her bath tub. The place were she would clean them. She showed a proper punishment compared to half the parents in the world. No harm was caused to these kids so therefore how can someone say this is a bad punishment? WAY TO GO MOM!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree. Posting the pictures was a little far. Selling the toys, however i can understand. The kids have to learn somehow.

Where was she when all of this was taking place? the irresponsibility is her fault, not the boys! Find another form of punishment. Bad parenting on her part!
