Parked Domain Girl Oil Painting Giveaway - Enter to Win!
Ever since we solved the mystery of her Mona Lisa-esque smile, we've been totally obsessed with Parked Domain Girl (the smiling blond from the stock photo used on many "parked" domains), and we're not the only ones.
Inspired by Andy Warhol's post-modern Factory, artist Parker Ito created a new art form: Post Internet. He sent the stock photo to orderartwork.com, a Chinese company that produces oil paintings on demand, and commissioned several paintings which he sells on his site.
Parked Domain Girl is Parker Ito's muse, and now she's going to be yours. Ito has generously offered an oil painting to be given away to one lucky Urlesque fan.
Want a piece of Internet history? Here's what you need to do:
- Create a piece of art about the internet -- anything from a photo of a cat, to a Microsoft Word line drawing of Antoine Dodson, to a Lego reenactment of The Social Network.
- Send the artwork or a photo or scan of it to firstname.lastname@example.org with the subject "The Most Infamous Girl in the History of the Internet."
- One winner will be chosen on March 4th (and announced on March 7th) to win a 12" by 16" oil painting of the Parked Domain Girl for his or her very own.
Urlesque's Parked Domain Girl giveaway is open only to legal residents of the 50 United States, the District of Columbia and Canada (excluding Quebec) who are 18 and older. To enter, please e-mail an original work of art (outlined above) to email@example.com. You must enter before 6:00 pm Eastern Time on March 4th, 2011. You may enter once per e-mail address, and one winner will be selected in a random drawing. Entries may be posted on Urlesque.com and Urlesque social networks. The prize will include the following item: (Approximate total retail value $300.00) one Parked Domain Girl oil painting from Parker Ito. Click here for complete Official Rules.
