While listening to tunes from your Cee-Lo Green channel on Pandora you will never in a million skips, come across a track by Chicago as a similar artist. It won't happen. They're too different. Two separate giants in completely different genres. Be that as it may, when Cee-Lo's hit track, "F**k You" gets mashed up with Chicago's hit "Saturday in the Park" what you get is a remix masterpiece that makes you wonder how no one thought to put these songs together before this.
The mix is Cee-Lo heavy, mashing his lyrics and singing with Chicago's trumpet, sax and keys, backed with an Ableton live beat that will have you tapping your feet.
The video is in the style of Cee-Lo's pre-album, viral video smash hit that was leaked to Youtube last August, but it incorporates bouncing, bobble headed cutouts singing along with the streaming lyrics. It even briefly shows you the piano chord progression laid out at the bottom of the screen which has inspired me to learn to play "Saturday in the Park" for myself (to impress my Dad, who is a fan, and the ladies who dig piano players). By the end of the video you'll be singing both songs back and forth in your head. This has me wondering if we will ever see a Cee-Lo/Chicago collaboration in real time. Probably not, but a guy can dream, right?
