The Chicago blizzard that just turned the Windy City into the Snowy City also included the coolest new weather trend of 2011 - Thundersnow! The Weather Channel's Jim Cantore was live on the scene, and ... well, there's no dancing around it: he freaked out a little bit. You know he's not just acting because he almost lets a couple of curses slip. And because there's frickin' thunder mixed with snow.
I don't blame Cantore for his reaction to the thundersnow, for two reasons. One, I'm from a place where it doesn't snow often, so I'd probably react the same way to a 20" blizzard. Even folks from the snowy midwest probably aren't used to being served thunder with their heaping helpings of the frozen stuff. And two, it's so much more entertaining to see a weather guy prancing and screaming than it would be to see him standing there stoically like the thundersnow is no big deal.

As someone who lives in the aea where this guy comes all the time to scare the out of people during hurricane system, it is my humble opinion that Jim Cantore is a tool and you will hardly find anyone in Pensacola who disagrees with me.
I'm surprised he was actually in a public place; when he comes here it's always someplace like the closed-off beach where his 'adoring' public can't get to him.
