weather channel's jim cantore reacts to chicago thundersnowThe Chicago blizzard that just turned the Windy City into the Snowy City also included the coolest new weather trend of 2011 - Thundersnow! The Weather Channel's Jim Cantore was live on the scene, and ... well, there's no dancing around it: he freaked out a little bit. You know he's not just acting because he almost lets a couple of curses slip. And because there's frickin' thunder mixed with snow.

I don't blame Cantore for his reaction to the thundersnow, for two reasons. One, I'm from a place where it doesn't snow often, so I'd probably react the same way to a 20" blizzard. Even folks from the snowy midwest probably aren't used to being served thunder with their heaping helpings of the frozen stuff. And two, it's so much more entertaining to see a weather guy prancing and screaming than it would be to see him standing there stoically like the thundersnow is no big deal.
