From the genius who brought you 250 Introductions of 185 People, Groups and Things comes another series of movie compilations. This one is a tribute to fictional bands, featuring practically every band or famous musician you can think of who only exists in the world of the movies. I hesitate to call A Tribute to Fictional Bands Parts 1 and 2 "supercuts," because the cuts aren't actually very quick. Let's just agree to call them montages.
Anyway, these brilliant montages include everyone from the classic (Conrad Birdie from Bye Bye Birdie) to the current (Scott Pilgrim vs. The World's Sex Bob-omb). Many of the bands are played by famous real life musicians: Elvis's character in Jailhouse Rock makes the cut, for example. You'll be astounded at how many bands this guy managed to come up with, and he's apparently already working on Part 3. Now that's dedication.
For notes on the bands and movies shown, check out Part 1 and Part 2 on the creator's blog.Warning: there's a bit of NSFW language in some of these songs.

What about Stillwater from Almost Famous?! Their song 'Fever Dog' was good enough to make on the soundtrack! And that band, although the same name as the 70's band, were NOT the same. The band from the 2000 film was completely fictitious... I certainly think that they were worthy of this accolade!

If you include Hanna Montanna you have to include three others.
1)The Archies
2)The Monkeys
3)the Partridge Family
I might be dating myself but they were more of a constant and adjusted for inflation, I bet made more money than anyone listed

No props for Lenny and the Squigtones from Laverne and Shirley or Rickies band from Happy Days.

How could you leave out Eddie and the Cruisers, the all time greatest fictional band.

They missed a whole bunch. The first 3 I thought of included spinal tap (which they got), the brady bunch did a band routine. Eddie and the cruisers was huge that everyone thought was a real band. What about the band from Roadhouse? Someone mentioned partridge family...that one was huge, and not mentioned.

there's a pretty interesting band in one of the Ace Ventura Pet detective movies. Also look for the band in "Strange Days" (movie)

Justine Bateman's group from Satisfaction (with Julia Roberts) should have received a mention. My personal fave was I Can't Go On, I'll Go On from Bandslam. Their rendition of Amphetamine was the bomb!!! Check it out on Youtube!!!
