Welcome to 'Feat of the Week,' in which our pals over at the Universal Record Database (where everyone can set a world record) hand-select one awesome world record to highlight.

URDB Typing RecordTo the chagrin of ergonomics experts, many of us in this post-typewriter age are hunt-and-peck typers, staring intently at our keyboards as we poke at letters with our index fingers. It's a more awkward approach than your standard Mavis Beacon method, but using fewer fingers doesn't have to mean fewer words per minute. At least, not for Rémi Duboué-Dijon.

The fleet-fingered Frenchman has just set the URDB World Record for Fastest Time to Type the English Alphabet Using One Hand. (Hey, when you have multiple diacritics in your name, you quickly learn how to be a keyboard ninja.) Using just his right hand, Monsieur D-D typed every letter in 2.89 seconds.

Forget "A-B-C, easy as one-two-three" -- Rémi makes it as easy as 2.89. It's a blistering benchmark, but if you'd like to challenge his record, a good place to start your training is the typing game Finger Frenzy. May your fists make light work of the A to Z.
