Cindy Jacobs Thinks Gay Soldiers Are to Blame for All the Dead Animals

cindy jacobs January 2011 has not gotten off to a good start. Dead birds are falling from the sky, snow is paralyzing major cities, and a nutjob's shooting spree in Tuscon, Arizona has devastated a nation. So, naturally, out come the crazies to voice their insane opinions in a timely manner.

Cue preacher Cindy Jacobs, who's correlating dead blackbirds with the repeal of Don't Ask, Don't Tell, which means that gay men and lesbians can serve their country proudly without having to shut up when someone asks them if they have a sweetheart back home for fear of losing their jobs because of their private lives.

In other words, Cindy Jacobs -- who might just be Amy Sedaris reprising her Strangers With Candy character, Jerri Blank (that blazer! that necklace! that hairline!) -- is here to clear things up for you: lesbians in the Air Force is killing drum fish.

Sheesh! Crazy people like this are the ones who give Christians like me a bad name.

For the record, there are MANY people like me out there who do NOT believe that every unexplained natural phenomenon, disaster, fluke, or what-have-you is a sign from God, much less evidence of His displeasure or punishment. I believe in a God of clarity... In other words, if you're being punished, you'll KNOW you're being punished and WHY. It won't come in the form of a cryptic message like a flock of birds falling out of the sky.

Preachers like Cindy Jacobs need to spend less time worrying about what God thinks of the U.S. government repealing DADT, and much MORE time worrying about what God thinks of THEM and their congregations, and what they are doing to change THEMSELVES to become better people.

Sorry Jimmy D, christians like to continually repeat all the time that when in comes to matters of being a christian there are no gray areas. And "poof" just like that you have magically created a "gray area". It must be wonderful to have such a god-given gift.

Your sincere effort to repudiate her as part of another fringe group of christians or feign her as not aligning with "your" version of christianity holds little validity with those of us on the outside. As difficult as this may be for you - please try to be cognizant of the fact that she IS a christian and another cruel-preaching snake-tongued christian with a podium and forum for doing nothing less than causing further hurt, greater division and anguish beyond your understanding - of especially to those among us that need it the least. I will not elaborate but simply say that I have witnessed up close and first-hand what terrible damage such people are capable of.

Cindy Cindy Cindy! I am a born again, spirit filled gay man and I hate to break it to ya sweets but I think your a little off your rocker. Before you start pointing the finger at a group of people your uncomfortable with you might want to stand in the mirror and take a good hard look at yourself. Did we not see that in the latest polls posted on Yahoo News that the top 3 countries that claim have the happiest people are 3 countries where its legal to marry gas and lesbians? If you want to take the Bible for its direct meaning I encourage you to STOP preaching cuz the Apostle Paul said that women are to be QUIET in church and if they have a question they are supposed to ask at home. The Apostle Paul also went on to say that (listen intently to this my dear) a woman is NEVER to have authority over a man. You see Ms Cindy I am a man therefore you have no authority over me for it was Eve who ate of the fruit first and then tempted Adam to eat also. Also Ms Cindy Jesus got mad at the money changers in the church. Why? Because they had changed HIS fathers house from a house of prayer into a DEN OF THEIVES. Well I guess you might want to close up shop because your selling books and cd's Cindy and according to Jesus own words your house is now a DEN OF THIEVES. My advice stand in the mirror poodle and take a good long look at that board and start working on getting it out so you can see clearly enough to pull the board out of your neighbors. Hey, Christian Loonies: If your god is so against homosexuality, why are 10% of the people he makes gay? Why does he allow for animal homosexuality?(a common phenomenon) Isn't it more likely that religious objection to gays is based on the fact that churches get new members most often by old members brainwashing their kids into the family faith? Why else do all cults ask members to "go forth and multiply/indoctrinate your children in our ways/otherwise (scary thing)"...? It's evil, but it works.

Great comment, but unfortunately, it's not 'Only in America'. That kind of crap is universal; where ever one finds belief systems that claim to be the only truth existing.In other words, fundamentalist. Hatred & bigotry sell big-time.Because of this, I question whether a mental health problem is present here. I think they know exactly what they're doing.When considering that one of the most successful preachers of the 20th century was the late Jerry Falwell, who had the audacity to blame 9/11 on progressive thinkers &, of course, gays; you see an element of obsessive thinking, but when it pays the bills & delivers power & prosperity tax free; they are simply using a recipe for success, even though it's unethical & disgusting.Remember, there's no money in snake oil these days.It's no exaggeration to say that they are dangerous. I am a little afraid of all the animal deaths we are seeing in such a short time. It's a big universe, and to the extent of our knowledge at this moment life is infinitely precious. The loss of life, for whatever reason, should be cause for reflection.

But I am MORE afraid of the way people use such tragedies to justify hatred and intolerance, and absolutely TERRIFIED that they do so in support of belief systems that are supposedly based on love and compassion.

People need to stop preaching only the parts of the bible that suit thier personal causes and beliefs. Preacher or not.
I think that God would be pleased with any person who is living a loving life, and not doing harm to anyone. Regardless of sexual preference.

It sucks that everyone has such different views. But respect your sister, you only heard 2 minutes of what she had to say.
I understand non-believers criticizing Mrs. Jacobs, but come on brothers and sisters.
You make all Christians look bad by bashing one. Whether or not you agree with her, God uses all things for His glory. Whether or not you yourself believe what she's saying, whether it be right or wrong, she is a believer and your sister in Christ and the Paul (the author of Corinthians-Philemon) tells us time and time again not to make public your disputes with other believers. If you question what she is saying, ask your pastor and pray about it.
