This holiday season, many continue to fight the good fight, asking that people "keep Christ in Christmas." Well, those do-gooders have certainly got supporters in three pretty young things who wrote their own parody of Ke$ha's still-relevant (ugh) party anthem 'Tik Tok.' Instead of a sing-songy kind-of-rap warble about excessive drinking and vomiting glitter, Kathi Lourdes re-wrote the lyrics to praise Jesus.
Problem is, the good people seated at the roundtables at the church's Luau Party don't seem particularly into it. You can even spot audience members who half-heartedly clap along without even turning around (although the lady in the neck brace gets a free pass).

Okay that WAS painful to watch, but the audience member "who half-heartedly clap along without even turning around" is blind, cut her some slack!

Well, I'm an Atheist, and I would say the kids did a great job, not bad at all. Of course I think the whole god crap thing is just that. As for the adult audience not being into it that is their problem - I'm over 50 and I like it! Of course in my iPod Black-eyed peas are next to Benny Goodman.

Well the audience wasn't impressed because it's a room full of older adults. Not pre-teens, teens and young adults.

But at least they might be Grandmas and Grandpas. I would be bouncing along and grooving in my chair just to support those talented young women whether I liked the song or not! These people seem like an aged bunch of drips. Come to my church instead!

i work with teen and we've preformed in front of elderly people. and we had each and every single one of them on their feet. i hate to say it. they may not have been into it they still show us support. i feel really bad for the girls that did their thing.

Blessed! The work and time these young women put into this was not wasted... the little bit of clapping raised the heart rate of those participating. ALL GOOD!
THANK YOU! Thank GOD!
Keep it UP!

This only reminds me of what can be done by professionals. Anyone remember My God from Sister Act. A great turn on an early 60s rock/pop classic.

I think these girls are adorable!! KUDOS to them for putting so much energy and effort into a very sweet performance!! It appears as though they are at an old folks home, which I think is precious!!! The LYRICS ARE GREAT and the singing is very good. It may even be GREAT! I just couldn't hear enough of it to tell! I hope they realize that even though the audience was a tad bit distracted...... GOD saw every bit of effort and heart and IS PLEASED!!!! Young people, like this, make me smile!!!!

Lynn,
I can't help myself, just have to ask, how the heck do you know if God saw it or not, and if he liked it or not? Why do so many people think they know exactly what God is up to, seems disrespectful to me.

I think it's cute what the girls did with that terrible song. Unfortunatly, their audience wasn't really the right age group to be performing that song for.

Singing to what? I couldn't make out a word. You have to know your audience; otherwise, this is what you wind up with. I thought it was well choreographed and the kids tried pretty hard. They were enjoying THEMSELVES. In front of the appropriate audience it would have went over better. Obviously it was done in a church and the people were trying to be considerate. But believe me, even if Billy Graham would have been speaking people would have been holding quiet conversationson on the side.

I couldn't even understand the lyrics. I like the old fasioned Church songs, etc.. but if it keeps young people 'off the streets' then,it's a free country.
