I didn't watch ALF when I was a kid, mainly for one reason: I was terrified by the alien. It's a good thing I wasn't watching, now that I know what was going on behind the scenes.
In this seven-minute video of outtakes from the series (apparently purchased off eBay), we witness the complete destruction of any innocence ever possessed by the cuddly extraterrestrial as he throws around the N-word like a frisbee (4:38) and pretends to snort a line of coke (1:28).
In other words, ALF was basically Gordon Gecko, and it all comes full circle. THE 80S WERE SO WEIRD.

Oh wow you would have been so scarred from a puppet saying bad words that you never hearb because they were never shown. Im betting that the scars from your liberal PC upbringingthat actually causes you to beleive that crap are far worse. Thanks god we now have good wholesome rap music that talks about killing cops and nailing bitches for our kids to listen to now.

I wonder if circmand is defending using the n-word or mocking disabilities. It's kind of an odd argument to make. We can talk about whether certain PC issues are over-the-top, but these arguments tend to be made by people like circmand, who bemoan their inability to say things they want to want to say without worrying about whether they have created a hostile work environment or community. In other words, circmand wants the freedom to offend. Freedom of speech exists, it just doesn't guarantee you a job, friends or acceptance in your community. One's time would best be spent respecting other people on mutual terms, instead of chasing the PC boogie man.
As for Alf, if this footage was released sooner -- say, in the 80's -- people would turned away, not because of political correctness, but because consumers get to make the choice of whether offensive behavior is acceptable.
