Ever spot a random can of Spaghetti-O's on the shelf while walking down the shampoo aisle in the grocery store and go, "Who does that?" Or, better yet, ever decided you didn't need Spaghetti-O's after all and left your can in the shampoo section?
Well there's an entire blog dedicated to documenting just that scenario and it's called "Someone Else Will Put It Back." They're open to submissions -- you just have to email your pic to putitback@ymail.com -- but for right now it looks like most of the photos are coming from the blog's creator in London. Who knows, maybe it'll blow up and go worldwide.
A beer set in the diaper area. Nice.
Thanks for the tip, Chetchez!

I don't know whether to be happy or sad to read this. Sad if it causes people to do it on purpose, to post it; or happy that it is brought to our attention. Having recently worked in a large toy store (yes, during holiday season!) I can say that parents are slobs, and are letting their children be slobs. This is a major pet peeve for me. Hours, literally hours, are spent putting things back where they belong. Doesn't anyone think of the employees? Or in the case of perishable goods, that they have to be thrown out if they are left unrefrigerated? I have NEVER allowed my children to put things down because we changed our minds. You put thing back. It is simple manners. If you don't want something, at least give it to the cashier. He or she will get it back to the correct place. Otherwise the inventory says the store has it, but it might be just shoved behind some jars somewhere where someone dumped it. This same attitude carries over into picking things up at work. Like spilled paper clips or staples. Not just accidentally dropped few, but the entire box. My own mother would say, "Let the janitor get it." Well, we were "the janitor" at a bank, and your messes can jam the vacuums up good.
Have some common courtesy. Teach it to your kids by example. Retail workers are not your servants!

Well atleast it creates job security. I suppose if all the customers cleaned up after themselves in the store a couple people would get fired because they would not need the extra help. Duh think about it

Actually, retail workers ARE servants. And they should be on their knees thanking me just for walking in the store, since without me you have no job. SO just put the stuff away, and shut your hole.

Are you serious??? Why would anyone care to go to this website?? Yes yes its lazy but what are you trying to say that if you put something in the wrong aisle that by being lazy it leads to bigger things?? Come on now its a flipping glass set in the wrong aisle..Do you think tiny infants will see them and start guzzling Heinekins? Palezeee people this is a major major idiotic thing to even condiser making a website about. I want my 10 minutes back it took to read the article and post here.Wow jesus lady I am sorry for your kids you really need to ease up you are really a whack job!

I hate when people leave perishables out someplace. Like the checkout, in the magazines or candy. Eww.. I worked as a cashier many years ago, and we were told to always look there first, (favorite ditching spot). The amount of food that is wasted is awful. Worse yet, how long did it sit? And what IF it ends up back in the refrigerated or freezer section, and you buy it? (Especially meat!) Sorry, just a pet peeve of mine.

Servents, maybe. Slaves, no. I also worked at a superstore for a while, and once found a package of beef roast shoved behind some slow-selling items, that had been there so long that it was green and filled with maggots! If you are too lazy to put something back, at least give it to a store employee.

The people who think this is "OK" because it creates "jobs" should look at this even further if they are so concerned about financial situations. Spoiled food left by inconsiderate customers result in store losses, which in turn means that the store will have to cut back on workers hours OR they can raise the price of the groceries to make up for it. That hurts all the other customers! There is no WIN in this. Don't try to make your laziness sound like you are doing someone a favor.

Do your job and shush... I've grown insanely weary of listening to the plight of the lowly worker. If your job is to put crap on shelves, then do your job. If you don't like your job, then quit. Everyone has to eat crow where they work, yet it seems the less important the job, the louder the wheel squeaks. You don't hear EMT's and Firemen complaining there job is too hard. Just be glad you're in a temperature controlled environment, primarily walking around avoiding work and getting a paycheck for something my 7 year old can do.

Maybe you should learn to read or have your 7 year old read to you. Nowhere does it have workers complaining in the article. Pompous jerk.

My Brother managed a toy store, and it amazed Him how many parents would let Their children sit and play with toys while They were shopping. And even go as far as leaving the kids there while shopping elsewhere. Yes; He found a couple children in an isle, and when questioned They confermed Their Parents were shopping elsewhere. ;o(

I don't think people here or in the article are complaining about doing Their job, but that it makes more work for employees. which forces employers to need extra people (Or overtime hours) to do the extra work. Which by the way can lead to higher prices on the items to accomodate the extra pay being put out. Just My thoughts. ;o)

Just the other day, I went to a local Aldi's. I only needed a few things to pick up. I needed some bacon, eggs, and cheddar cheese that were in the back of the store. I needed 6 quarts of their Infuse (knockoff of Gatorade) which were at the front of the store. I saw 4 employees in the back re-stocking goods. After I had to dig for the Orange Infuse, I turned around and there was a line of 7 carts filled with groceries for one checkout person. You better believe I just left my box of 9 items sitting at the front of the store on top of the bottled water that was next to the Infuse.
You'd better believe I wasn't going to retrace my steps to re-stock their food items, when they only have one checker. I'll gladly pay the extra $2 more that it cost me at our local Food World, instead of waiting 15-20 minutes to be checked out.
So they had a little extra work today, because they couldn't man their check out lines. Staff during your peak times, and you won't have people walk out.

Bottom line: People are selfish pigs, accept it and move on. It's unfortunately human nature.

I'm a retired professional now. But I remember back when I was very young and poor. When I was in college I was so poor, that when I went to the store and picked out something, I sometimes knew I couldn't afford it after I mentally added up my items.
If you only have ten dollars, but you just chose milk, eggs and stuff that adds up to $10.20, guess what? Something has to be put back.
Maybe the same people didn't walk all the way back to the proper shelf it came from, but so what?
