For Julie Taymor's film adaptation of Shakespeare's The Tempest, actors were required to stick to the original Shakespearian text. Makes sense. But for an improvisational comedian like Russell Brand, getting into character involves more than just working with the script.

The solution? Letting Brand let loose during rehearsal.

With the tiny prompt of, "Is Trinculo your first name or last?" Brand flies off on a five minute improvised monologue, in character, that makes you wonder if he's on the best drugs or if he's just the most brilliant dude ever. I'm choosing to believe the latter.
