PS 22 isn't the only children's choir that knows how to pull out the topical, internet-worthy videos. The Gifford Children's Choir from Racine, Wisconsin recently performed Video of the Year 2k10 contender 'Trololo' at their holiday concert while wearing some crazy masks, and things got pretty strange.
In no particular order, my reactions to this video:
- Oh my god, it's Swedish electro-band The Knife!
- Do I spy the mask from V For Vendetta?
- Is that really an age-appropriate movie?
- How does the audience know all of the words?
- HILLARY CLINTON?
- I wonder what Slipknot has to say about this.

Not so strange. Maybe the kids had a bit of stage nerves and the masks gave them the confidence to perform. You can be anybody behind the mask. It feels safer and you forget your fears. And having the audience support them added to the feeling of safety.

Stranger than the masks on the children's faces is the audience doing a sing along.

Kind of looks like Halloween, I would like to know the lyrics they were singing. I was in choir for many years and can say I've never had to do such a number. It was very strange. It was like a ightmare before Christmas concert.....

I had never heard of 'Trololo" before either, but found the video very entertaining. I also thought it great the audience got into it enough to join the children and sing with them. The masks didn't bother me at all. I thought it unique.

Okay..........The tune is catchy.I have heard it before and all those lo,lo's and la la's etc are the words.Big deal if the parents were singing along and standing swaying their arms. They looked like they were enjoying the song.BTW,what difference does it make if the kids were wearing masks? So what!!Lighten up.......It was after all only children and their parents.

Why do you put a solicitous comment under this topic? I doubt that anyone would take it seriously and it is extremely annoying to most people...this is a forum for comments, not a dating service.

This song has it's beginnings in Russia, during a severe time of censorship. It used to have words, but it was about a cowboy. Take a look at this website (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eduard_Khil).
Then take a look at the first "video" of this song done by him in 1966. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Z4m4lnjxkY).

Kinda creeps me out. The film "Eyes Wide Shut" comes to mind. Weird.

Well, it was strange but the whole bunch seemed to be having fun and no one was shooting at anyone like at the school board meeting last week so, go for it.

By you're an idiot
Why do you say this makes fun of America? Oh...Now I figured it out. Because there is no mention of God, Jesus, guns, conservative Republicans, or Obama bashing. Yeah....now, I get it. Of course, having fun is a socialist plot to bring down America.
Idiots like you make our country a target of ridicule world wide.
