Poor Justin Bieber. Although he's the hugest teen pop star in the world, battling Lady Gaga for the top spot on YouTube, and huge enough on the internet to get his own category at the Urlies, a lot of the Bieber web bits that sprung up this year were less than supportive of the young Canadian singer.

Sorry we've been so hard on you, Biebs, and thanks for all the opportunities to make some good internet at your expense. This award wouldn't be possible without you.

4Chan Tries to Send Justin Bieber to North Korea

Whenever there's an internet poll to be rigged in a hilarious fashion, the master trolls over at 4Chan's /b/ board will be there to rig it. A poll to see which country should be added to Justin Bieber's world tour earlier this year was no exception. 4Chan's swung the votes heavily in favor of North Korea, a nation not exactly known for its booming music scene or great diplomatic relations with ... well, anyone.

Dear Leader Kim Jong Il is known to be a fan of American films, but does he like American pop music, too? Fortunately for Bieber, he never had to find out, because the poll turned out to be unofficial, and Bieber's management didn't recognize the results. Still, the image of Bieber rocking out for Kim Jong Il is pretty amusing.

When you've got the media following you day and night, you're bound to have the occasional public FAIL. Justin Bieber is no exception. In fact, he's had a handful of prominent bloopers caught on video. His inability to manage glass doors is well-documented, as was the time he got hit in the head a water bottle while performing. Less well known is a video of Bieber riding a segway to escape a throng of fans (who easily outrun the dorky getaway vehicle). Then, there's the time Justin misheard the word "German" during an interview, making it sound like he had never heard of an entire European country. Oops!

Lesbians Who Look Like Justin Bieber

It's kind of uncanny how much certain lesbians look like Justin Bieber. We're not saying they necessarily inspired his look, or anything, but they definitely inspired the aptly-named blog "Lesbians Who Look Like Justin Bieber." Of course, it goes the other way, too. Some women just think Bieber's style is cute, and seem to have intentionally claimed it for themselves. But, you guys, the point is that these Biebians really, really look like the Bieb.

Shaved Bieber Browser Add-On

This little browser extension is more than just a slightly NSFW pun. Shaved Bieber actually blocks mentions and photos of Justin Bieber anywhere on the web, replacing them with blue boxes. Now that the kid is so huge online that 3% of Twitter's server space is dedicated just to him and his crazy fans (true fact!), folks who are less Bieb-friendly can certainly use a little protection. Thanks, Shaved Bieber!

'U Smile 800% Slower'

Don't love Justin Bieber's catchy, heavily produced pop songs? Try slowing them down 800%. Someone named Nick Pittsinger did, using Biebs' 'U Smile' and the result was "like Sigur Ros doing Vangelis covers in a cathedral being washed away by the sea," according to one commenter on Metafilter. This epic pop is like nothing on the radio today, but it doesn't change the original Bieber track at all, other than by slowing it down. Brilliant! Plus, it inspired other slowed-down songs, starting a late summer mini-meme.
