If anything can come close to the popularity of cats and dogs on the web, it's kids. This year's crop ranges from YouTube sensations to IRL celebrities gone viral, and they've all got their unique charms. Dancing, singing or, um, shouting their way into our hearts, these are your nominees for Coolest Web Kid of the Year.

If this were a contest for "Most Uplifting Web Kid of the Year," Jessica and her Daily Affirmation would win by a landslide. She can do anything good! She likes anything! She likes her hair! Who wouldn't feel better about life after seeing a cute four-year-old acting so upbeat? Although the video was taken years ago, it didn't hit the internet until 2010, so it totally counts. Plus, this was the year we got the inside story from Jessica herself (she's now 13).


Greyson Chance

Greyson Chance has had a huge year. At age 12, he got a lot of buzz as a potential heir to Justin Bieber when his piano cover of Lady Gaga's 'Paparazzi' (an Urlies Video of the Year nominee) went viral. He hit the Ellen Show, turned 13, landed a record deal and the rest is history. Greyson's first single, 'Waiting Outside the Lines' dropped in October. His shaggy Bieber-esque hair has been trimmed back a bit, too, perhaps to indicate that he's now a teenybopper pop star in his own right. See extensive Greyson news on PopEater.

Back in January, Urlbot Eliot declared "Mini Daddy is LIFE." You might agree after seeing this little reggaeton star's video for his song "El Niño Mas Bonito." Mini Daddy sports Yankees caps and Aeropostale with a swagger appropriate to someone three times his age. And what is UP with those backup dancers? Anyway, the main thing to know about Mini Daddy is that he wears grown-up street clothes and raps in Spanish about being the cutest and tiniest kid.

Dancing babies are a long and proud internet tradition, and Samba Baby (aka Bebê Dançarino) is this year's model. This Brazilian super-kid's bold costume choice (nude, except for a diaper) and his way-too-sexy moves may make him controversial, but we can all agree that he could easily grow up to dominate the dance world. All he needs is a beat.


Willow Smith

Willow Smith


Will Smith's daughter, Willow, could grow up to be as big in the music world as her famous dad. Her first single, 'Whip My Hair' (don't pretend you don't know it!) is only a couple of months old, and it's already a classic. What makes Willow a web kid, though? It's the insane remixes and memes, the Sesame Street mashup and the video of a parrot dancing to the song. There's no denying it: the web is in love with whipping some parody back and forth, and Willow's song was one of the most fun targets this year.
