typographic animation for jonathan coulton shop-vacIf you love internet rock star Jonathan Coulton, typography, or awesome animation, you'll love this new typographical music video for Coulton's song "Shop-Vac." The animation uses dozens of different fonts, including some corporate logos you'll no doubt recognize, to visually represent Coulton's story of a couple that's settled down and become boring (the Shop-Vac, you see, is a metaphor for the lack of communication and excitement in their relationship).

This video was put together by one animator, Jarrett Heather. Jarrett says it took 500 to 1000 hours of work to complete, but that it was worth it for the love of JoCo. Considering the time and detail that went into this vid, I have to agree with him.
