You might remember five-year-old Aidan Reed's story: he was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia in September 2010. After receiving the diagnosis, his family created an Etsy store for him to sell some of the monster drawings he loves making. The store served two purposes: a way to keep Aidan busy during his long hospital visits and a means of raising a little extra money for his treatment. Well, while their plan was originially to try to sell 60 of Aidan's drawings, they've ended up selling over 7,000 so far, and with most of them priced at $12 a pop that means they've raised over $83,000 in the past few weeks.

With the story gaining national coverage I'm sure the number is going to continue to rise, which is awesome for the Reed family and must feel so, so good to Aidan during this tough time.

My bud Scott Friday actually bought one of Aidan's earlier works and he sent me a photo of himself with the piece.

He's framed his piece and is gonna hang it in his house. "I finally have a print of Gill Man to go with my Gill Man action figure!" said Friday, an adult.

In all seriousness, though, it's absolutely awesome that Aidan has been able to raise so much money doing something that he loves -- and I'm sure his family is incredibly appreciative of the outpouring of support they've received.

Just goes to show ya what the internet can do when we're being good people. Feels good, man.
