In a new feature, 'Feat of the Week,' our pals over at the Universal Record Database (where everyone can set a world record) will be hand-selecting one awesome world record to highlight.

Milkshake URDB RecordIn the first decade of the 21st century, the once-preppy milkshake underwent an image overhaul, transforming into a bad-ass beverage following two prominent pop-cultural name-checks.

In There Will Be Blood, a terrifyingly gruff Daniel Day-Lewis uttered the now-famous line "I drink your milkshake!" before -- SPOILER ALERT -- fatally beating his protege with a bowling pin. Ouch, man. Very ouch.

But the original credit for the dairy drink's transition to bad-assery goes to Kelis. In 2003, the R&B artist released her song 'Milkshake,' turning the titular beverage into a symbol of sexual confidence. Assisted by an enticing video, the catchy tune shot to the top spot on the Billboard 100. Many people could sing the lyrics, including one Kansas resident named Ryan Loecker. But mere singalongs weren't enough. In July 2009, Loecker set the URDB world record for the fastest time to recite all the lyrics.

The one-minute, 45.67-second rendition was almost half the length of the original. Even allowing for the absence of dance moves, it was an impressive reduction. But the glory didn't last forever. In May 2010, California's Aaron Argiso smashed the record, reciting 'Milkshake' in 53.69 seconds.

You'd think that after those two frenzied attempts, all the boys would have been brought to the yard. But, a month after Argiso's triumph, prolific record-setter Mick Cullen coaxed out a few more with his 52.67-second 'Milkshake.'

The record stands, but for how long? The creative types out there in internet land are capable of anything, as evidenced by this hilarious 'Milkshake' mash-up:
