In a new feature, 'Feat of the Week,' our pals over at the Universal Record Database (where everyone can set a world record) will be hand-selecting one awesome world record to highlight.

On Monday night, everyone's favorite ex-NBC employee makes his long-awaited return to late-night television. Banished from the boob tube for six months, Conan O'Brien has been whiling away the hours tending to his already omnipresent internet fanbase. From a 24-hour live Coco cam on YouTube to a series of videos in which he answers questions posted on his Facebook fan page, Mr. O'Brien's embrace of the web has become a key part of his lovable underdog image.

In an unpredicted development, Coco's internet shtick recently crossed over into URDB world record territory. On November 1, his pre-premiere episode of Conan, broadcast live on YouTube and known as Show Zero, broke the record for Shortest Late-Night Talk Show. The video, which featured a blink-and-you'll-miss-it interview with Jim Parsons, a one-chord performance by band Steel Train, and ridiculously unsubtle product placement, lasted two minutes and 52 seconds.

The original record was dreamed up and set by Jon Friedman, a blogger for Conan's Late Night successor -- and fellow internet darling -- Jimmy Fallon, at three minutes and 41 seconds. Although Jon's effort was bested, he deserves much credit for giving his house band, The Defibulators, more time to rock out.

"I wish I had a dancing taco," said Friedman, after learning of the new record.

It's a poetic reversal of fortune for Conan to be ousting someone from their late-night talk show position, but Jon plans to reclaim his title -- in the spirit of friendly non-cynicism of which Conan is so fond. The attempt will take place at URDB's December 1 live show at Joe's Pub in New York.
