You'd expect the story of a dog born without eyes to be a sad one, but Rowan (an 18-month-old German Spitz) looks like the happiest puppy around. He looks like he's always laughing, he plays in the woods with his owner, and he's even learning to find his way around using echolocation.
That's right, Rowan barks and uses the resulting echos to determine his location in the woods near his home. He might not be able to see, but this echolocation trick lets him get around just fine. He's also got a superpowered sense of smell, so he knows when it's dinnertime. The only difference between Rowan and normal dogs is that Rowan wants to play all night, because he doesn't know the difference between night and day. D'aww!
