It's official, Willow Smith's 'Whip My Hair' has spread like wildfire. Whether it's the Sesame Street mashup, the remix featuring Nicki Minaj or the choreographed dance routines springing up all over YouTube, I think it's safe to say that she's the most popular 9-year-old on the internet right now.

I've wrangled the best 'Whip My Hair' stuff out there to illustrate the full extent of this ubermeme. Basically we're dealing with three kinds of animal here: the witty gif, the dance video and the edited image.

You seem to have a serious problem--an irrational axe to grind against the Smith family, it would seem. I am fan of neither Will nor Jada Smith; however, my disdain for them comes from what I have seen and not something that I made up in my head. Seriously, get your facts straight before posting. I am a teenager, around the same age as Willow.Us kids have the right to truly express ourselves and I think she is doing just that. Her song isn't inapropriate, it's catchy, and her dancing isn't racy either. Oh, and before you go shooting off your big mouth about how annoying this is, make sure you get some of the basic facts straight first. Like, I don't know,the gender? UH UH, it's pretty obvious. This is the most beautiful thing I've seen in a long time. It is perfectly age appropriate. Willow reminds me of my 9yr old in her zest for life and her innocence. I wish I had the money will and jada have to invest in my child the way that they get to invest in theirs. But I think what they give most is their time. That's why my baby is as happy as willow is. It's wonderful. Fabulous. You keep right on doing what you're doing smith family and by the way, I'm from Massa Smiff's plantation too! lol

It is so distressing to see the nastiness aimed at a child. Calling a beautiful child ugly is just plain vicious. Willow is a child having fun on this video, and what is wrong with her parents encouraging that? Jaden is an incredibly talented young actor, and Willow stated when she was on "Oprah" with her parents that she wanted to be a performer as well. Isn't providing children with the opportunity to develop their interests and talents what good parenting is all about? Will and Jada Smith are excellent parents from what I have seen and read. They have the means to give their kids these opportunities, and they seem like the supportive and loving parents that all children deserve.
