4channers Hunt Down Detroit Couple Taunting Dying Girl While Reddit Donates to the Victim's Family

Fox Detroit reports that a 7-year old girl named Kathleen Edward became the subject of cruel taunts by her neighbors. Kathleen is dying of Huntington's Disease, a degenerative brain disorder which killed her mother at 24.

Neighbors Jennifer and Scott Petkov, who are allegedly embroiled in some kind of feud with Kathleen's family, set up a Facebook page with a picture of Kathleen's mother in the arms of the grim reaper and Kathleen's face photoshopped into a skull and crossbones. Why?

Because it rubs their ass raw.

Ugh, what?

The local news video after the jump doesn't explain what the feud was initially about. But it's safe to say that the Petkovs are as gross as it gets, regardless of provocation.

The neighbors also used a truck with a coffin, which they claim they use for Halloween decoration, to taunt Kathleen's family.

Update: Kathleen thanks Reddit, Petkov apologizes, then gets arrested for allegedly trying to run someone over, then loses custody of her own kids.

I checked 4chan, and sure enough, they're quickly plotting vengeance. Someone posted the Petkov family's home address, phone number, a list of relatives and social network profiles. Some 4chan users are completely ambivalent, others are calling for the Petkovs' heads, and still others are praising the Petkovs for their epic troll (these folks are possibly being sarcastic).

Hopefully this doesn't result in any violence, but I wouldn't mind seeing several hundred pizzas delivered to the house. Meanwhile Reddit is donating money to the victim's family.

My brother-in-law died of Huntington's at 32. he started showings symptoms at 23. It was heartbreaking to see this once vibrant,healthy man degenerate . Huntington's is an absolutely miserable way to go. I still cry when I think of him...If these people want to Rub your ass raw. Let them experience this afflicion personally. The ending is not pretty.

I don't think I have ever seen such white trash in my entire life...This is just sick and cruel and I don't know how these people can live with themselves after taunting this little girl and her family. She is 7 for God's sake and not to mention dying of a terrible disease. I don't care what their issue is with this little girl's family, you don't take it out on the child. Honestly, I feel awful for their children if they have any...What cold hearted jerks!

Wow. I mean, just...woooooow. How do you respond to something this vile? It's beyond words, really.

It reminds me of a line from the Carolyn Forche poem "The Visitor," about a political prisoner in El Salvador: "There is nothing one man will not do to another."

And if you look a bit closer, you can see a Second line of Truth; The woman Jennifer, someone should tell her that regardless of how much money she spends to get her hair highlighted, and no matter how carefully she apply's make-up to her face, to what she wears, or if she works out, there is absolutely ZERO chance she will ever look other than what she is in reality, A Hideously Ugly almost human thing . Whereas the child, ah now, there we see a thing of beauty, perhaps soon to be, where all in more beautiful than anyone can imagine. The contrast is astounding.

This is a 3yr long feud because her kids were not invited to a birthday party. Yep - that is the horrible thing the Rose family did to deserve all this. This is not an isolated lapse in judgment, it is a long term campaign of bullying and harassment.

I'm guessing the only thing the Petkov's are sorry about is that the rest of the world found out and stood up to the bully.

Rebecca Rose's answer says it all started about three years ago when she threw a birthday party for her youngest daughter, who is also handicapped. Jennifer Petkov texted that she wanted her kids to come to the party, but no one responded to the text until it was too late...things simply escalated from there.

I'm sorry but IMO it is the vampire Petkov, obviously a native of Ghoulistan that has already died from a degenerative brain condition, and is walking around like the living dead. Little Karen is Living, capital L, though she may or may not have as long as some other children. First, where were the cops waaaay b4 this attempted runover, where were the restraining orders against Petkov? Petkov has a kid(s) - where is Child Protective Services to take the kid away so she can grow up with values, instead of a rap sheet? Little Karen, I know in my heart one day there will be a cure for Huntington's and I hope it goes to you first, and I am just sure there is no cure for Petkov.

As hard to think about, or hear about, as this story is --and, wow, is it heart-breaking!-- I am *SO GLAD* that it has been exposed and is getting the attention it deserves.

No doubt these Petkovs thought that their dirtbags ways and despicable behavior would fly under the radar, and that they would never face any accountability or repercussions - thankfully, however, that is now not the case! (especially with 4chan on the case! *snort*)

Bullying and harassment has GOT to stop!

And, yes, I do understand that the Petkov's bullying and harassment will be met with people acting out toward them in what some might say is just more 'bullying' and 'harassment'.

But, personally, I refuse to look at the Petkovs as if they are about to become victims here. They aren't! Their's is not a story about an endless cycle of bullying and revenge, bringing on even more bullying and revenge; their's is a story about cruel, slim-ball people who made their bed and now have to lie in it.

Hopefully, potential bullies and harassers will get the message --loud and clear!-- that, in this day and age of rapid information sharing, such behavior as exhibited by the Pekovs will not go unnoticed and unpunished.

In that regard, I'm more inclined to think of the Petkovs as being like the patron saints of cruel, slim-ball bullies who receive their comeuppance!

I can't imagine that the Petkovs are enjoying their sudden notoriety - especially now that the 4channers are on the case!

I do think that bullying and harassment needs to stop, but these scumbags really have brought upon themselves any bad thing that happens to them - so it's hard to feel sorry for them if they too are bullied a bit.

Crazy as it sounds, not only should we all be praying for the Rose family, but we should be praying for Mrs. Petkovs spiritual healing. The bulling has to stop! I'm praying that with the prayers & love of enough people surrounding this family, from all over the world this evil can stop, & the families can reconcile. I've never met these people, (I live in Ga.) & only heard a partial report on the news tonight, so I looked on the internet & found this forum. I pray to God that this woman can truly be sorry for her actions!
