Hulk vs. Jafar
When we featured Tetris vs. Contra and Pac-Man vs. Mario this June, no one at Urlesque had any idea that these two nostalgia-tweaking videogame showdowns were just a tiny sample of the actual literal dozens of fights that the Russian video site Tvigle.ru has animated in its Versus series.

Jack Sparrow fights Shrek, Jafar fights the Hulk, and Jackie Chan fights the Eye of Sauron in the scrumtrulescent hand-drawn series with cute voice-only sound effects. The action is quick, simple and funny, enough to get away with the same brutality that makes claymation shows like Robot Chicken and Celebrity Deathmatch so adults-only.

Okay let's watch some frikkin' movie characters fight!
Jackie Chan vs The Eye of Sauron
Let's start with my favorite, where Jackie Chan leaps through a set of death traps to poke Sauron in the eye. Listen to the beautiful little ending theme being hummed! And check out how cute Jackie Chan sounds when the shark is ripping him apart.
Bill Gates vs. Crazy Professor
I'm a sucker for reality-twisting tricks like this, where Bill Gates turns the whole arena into Windows.
Jafar vs. The Hulk
The series really gets creative with its twists, and it uses every possible trope that the audience already associates with the famous characters it's borrowing. It's so satisfying to see these familiar figures use all their abilities in a slapstick comedy.
SAW vs. Sherlock Holmes
I hate SAW. I love this.
The Ring vs. Robin Hood
Seriously, the combinations these guys think up... the girl from the Ring fights the mythical hero Robin Hood.
Darth Vader vs. Die Heavy
The most narrative of the fights so far. I'm not sure who Die Heavy (The Heavy?) is, but I am in love with Darth's voice acting.
Jack Sparrow vs. Shrek
Just a typical fight between two pop culture characters.
The Mask vs. Bugs Bunny
Fair warning, these two trickster heroes get really gory. It's still just simple cartoons though, and nothing you don't see on Itchy and Scratchy.
