Last week, we brought you "2 Guys 600 Pillows," the creative new endeavor by "internetainers" Rhett and Link involving 600 pillows and a backwards video. We were impressed, but also regressed to when the simple art of playing tape backwards wasn't uncommon in music videos.

In honor of all the forward-thinking, backward-thinking video directors, Urlesque presents the best backwards videos of all time (minus Coldplay's "The Scientist" which is sadly not embeddable anywhere). FYI: I'm just judging the videos. I'll let you decide on the quality, or lack thereof, of the song.

10. Beyoncé's 'Me, Myself and I'

I'm not 100% sure what's enhanced by this video by randomly throwing in some shots of Beyoncé walking backwards and putting on pants. It's not as if taking a bath looks that much different forward or in reverse. Others must have felt the same as a more traditional, forward-running video was released in May.

9. Goodshirt's 'Blowing Dirt'

Goodshirt were an early '00s New Zealand rock band who made a little noise with this video of a demolished car getting resurrected. The band also puts on scuba gear for some reason. Maybe it's a New Zealand thing.

8. Seether's 'Driven Under'

Seether came out of the same post-Alice in Chains "If I sing low and menacing, you'll think I'm scary but we'll still make commercial music" group of bands such as 3 Doors Down and Staind. Presumably per the band's contract, two skanky girls are featured for no apparent reason before lead singer Shaun Morgan walks to his backwards-exploding car.

7. Bentley Rhythm Ace's 'Bentley's Gonna Sort You Out!'

Skydiving videos are cool. Skydiving videos played backwards from touchdown to jumpoff are cooler. That is all.

6. Enigma's 'Return to Innocence'

Here's what happens when someone who watched way too much Bergman in college goes for the backwards effect. A backwards-walking unicorn. Gravity-defying pears. Waves going back into the ocean. And more unicorns.

5. Mute Math's 'Typical'

Somehow, New Orleans rock band Mute Math took all the elements usually reserved for a child's birthday party -- paint, Silly String, strung lights -- and turned it into one of the better backwards entries. Bonus points for use of a Keytar.

4. R.E.M.'s 'Imitation of Life'

What is basically Seurat's "A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatee" filtered through the Hipster Handbook took only twenty seconds to shoot, then keeps looping forwards to backwards and back. Ingenious.

3. Cibo Matto's 'Sugar Water'

One of Michel Gondry's best videos involves split-screening Cibo Matto members Yuka Honda and Miho Hatori, running one member forward and the other backward before they meet and switch positions halfway through. Yeah, it's complicated. Just watch.

2. The Pharcyde's 'Drop'

Spike Jonze has to get credit for being the only director to make a backwards video and force his client, the legendary L.A. hip-hop group The Pharcyde, to learn the song backwards so the lip-syncing is accurate. Dedication.

1. God Lives Underwater's 'From Your Mouth'

So simple, but so genius. One room. One take. Champion eater Hirofumi Nakajima unstuffs his face. Director Roman Coppola FTW.
