katy perry elmo
It goes without saying that Katy Perry's music is essentially constructed for children (in-house examples here and here). The doe-eyed pop songstress plays up the Virgin/Whore complex like a pro, singing songs about bi-curiousity and California pride with equal amounts of faux naivete, blurring the line between silly and sexy.

More over, her music -- catchy as it may be -- is nothing groundbreaking. In fact, we're pretty sure it's so simple, so artistically banal, that she might actually be singing songs by Miley Cyrus and/or Ke$ha, or vice versa.

Needless to say, nothing has ever made more sense than Katy Perry, sex kitten and professional dum-dum, acting all stupid with Elmo. Wearing her usual Who, me? expression, Perry's hit song "Hot N Cold" is finally revealed in its truest form: a sing-along song for babies!
