Antoine Dodson exploded into our pop cultural landscape when video footage featuring his enigmatic ranting about an attempted rape surfaced on the internet. Now Antoine is buying his family a new home from the money he earned as the subject of a chart-topping viral video smash based on the incident. Auto-Tune the News's Gregory Brothers posted the song to iTunes and gave Antoine half of what they made.
He talked to Us Magazine about his new fortune, and how he's spending it wisely.
"We found a house!" he tells Us, adding that he is so "excited ... It's for my whole family. And these are new houses that have just been built."Dodson plans to go to school to get his associate's degree in business and one day open a salon or hotel.
"I still can't believe this," he tells Us of his sudden fame. "Even though my life is moving forward, it's at a standstill in my mind. I'm like, 'Wow! All of this is happening just off a news interview!'"

He did spend his money responsibly. It is great the Gregory Brothers did share the money. It would be really great if the culprit that started this mess was caught. "Hide your Family", until then.

His actions shows that he is no deviant, he is just a man that simple cares about the well being of his family. His sexual preference is noone concern except his. I am happy for him and his entire family. I wish more young man spent there money as wisely.

Uh, Carter, Antoine Dodson is not the suspect in the attempted rape, he is the brother of the girl the man attempted to rape. He is the one who rescued his sister form the perpetrator and prevented the rape in the first place. I'd hardly call the man a "deviant" Besides, he spent the money on a decent home for his family, not drugs, grillwork for himself, or a hot car.Give the poor guy a break. I'm just sayin'...

Well, enough people cared to:
- give his viral video millions of hits
- create viral spoofs of that video
- turn his interview into a song
- buy his song on iTunes, so it actually hit the charts!
He's a huge web meme! Sorry you can't see that.

Most Straight Black Men His Age Would Have More Than Likely Bought A New Benz,or Escalade. This "Gay" Guy Did A Man's Job In Protecting His Sister, and Making Sure His Family Had A Decent Home. I Still Think Straight Is The Way, But This Guy Is O.K.!!! Way To Go!

Oh look... Kate used both the race card AND the homophobia card in the same play.
How cute.
I don't see anything racist or homophobic about his comment. Its common knowledge actually.

I'm dying to know why the first letter of every word is capitalized. Honestly, I couldn't tell you what this person said. All I can remember is that they took the time to capitalize every word. Weird.

As a fellow Huntsvillian, I am happy for Antoine Dodson and his "15 minutes of fame". This family was living in a project neighborhood. Anyone must admire the young man for using the money he has received to take care of his family. Too many young men his age that are living in the projects are there because they opt to focus their lives on drugs and gangs. Kudos to Antoine for investing responsibly and for getting an education.

As another resident of North Alabama - I guess you could call me a Harvestian instead of a Huntsvillian - I can't honestly say that I'm *proud* of him achieving fame this way, but I do agree with you. He could be putting his money towards far worse things, and it's always nice to hear about someone putting their family and education first, rather than just themselves.
I've seen people start businesses on far less, so double kudos to him if he can get a nice hotel up and running.

A lot of black men work. That's one surefire way to get out of the projects.
Being made fun of in a video, I wouldn't be so proud of that money if I were him.
When I first saw the video, I thought it was a joke, we laughed our asses off.
