Time-lapse can fully capture a radiant, majestic sunrise glistening off verdant hills and towering, awe-inspiring mountains, proving how little we are in the face of nature's beauty.

Or it can show a day in the life of a corn snake.

Guess which we prefer. Check out a time-lapsed look at what exactly pets do all day. Judging by the videos, running around seems pretty universal (guys in the pic notwithstanding.)

Given that this animal really is a rat in a cage, I am left struggling to find the proper simile.

Puppy turning into a dog and then reversing back into a puppy just because he can.

When you're young (or 31 and immature), you assume right when you leave the house, your dogs will start reading Sartre or graphing parabolas. Turns out they do nothing but sleep for 10 hours straight.

There's only so much a guinea pig can do in a cage, so I'll forgive the interspersed skyline shots.

I applaud the owner's annotated video of his snake's behavior, even if "chillax" reads as awkward as it sounds. (Warning: contains footage of a snake eating a baby mouse so if you're sensitive to that kind of thing, there are rats moving to "Yakety Sax" below that might interest you.)

More proof than whenever "Yakety Sax" is added to a video, that video's enjoyment is multiplied tenfold.

This will be the most mesmerizing video you will see all day and you won't know why.
