All right, let's get everyone up to speed here:

You may remember about a week ago when Cole wrote about a certain social media-savvy bald guy named Michael Krivicka. He's known as @whoisthebaldguy, and he's been on a mission to get celebrities to follow him on Twitter using microsites with long URLs, such as AlyssaMilanoPleaseFollowMeOnTwitter.com.

You may also remember a few days later when we discussed him in our podcast, The Urly Show. I wasn't too familiar with his work but didn't like the stink of seemingly aimless attention-whoring -- I have important cats to write about, after all -- so when Eliot posed the question "Do we like this guy?" I didn't hold back. I said I hated him.

Within a day, the bald guy picked up two creepy new URLs: EmmyBlotnickDoesntHateTheBaldGuy.com and PleaseFollowMeOnTwitterEmmyBlotnick.com.

The thing is, he did a really, really good job. He copied our CSS, he edited our podcast footage to look like he was at the taping and he casually reminded us we'd seen him before in this video where he staged a creative marriage proposal.

We were impressed. Everyone else at Urlesque told me they'd started following him so I caved too, but then something very strange happened. All that's left to say now is that we can't recommend you do the same. Really, don't follow the bald guy.
