Well Watson, we have a rather curious meme on our hands.
Thousands upon thousands of people on Twitter are tweeting the same thing: "Sometimes I just want to copy someone else's status, word for word, and see if they notice."
Why? It's anyone's guess. TechCrunch has called the phenomenon "a naturally replicating human-made virus," but perhaps the strangest part of all is that nobody seems completely sure when or with whom it began.
Except for us. Using very expensive historical timeline-crawling technology (err, Photoshop), we can trace the roots of the meme and capture the moments the words were uttered. All it takes to find its originator is a journey through history and you'll see, it's not who you'd think.
