Some truly priceless footage has surfaced from training videos for Wendy's employees made -- very clearly -- in the eighties. These vids "teach" staffers how to pour drinks in rhyme, which would be odd if it weren't in the context of the era in which they were made, which was the eighties. And the eighties were weird.
Here are the videos, in absolutely no order of crazy whatsoever.

Every time I think I'm clear of it, the 80's comes back and rapes me by surprise. This must be how John Cusack feels.

Hey, I know the headline says these were made in the 80s, but if you look at the copyright at the end of the 3rd video it says "1992." So not only are these horrible, but they were dated when they were made.

I feel afraid....
Hm. Maybe the royalties from the Jackson-esque video are why Wendy's value meal prices are so high! Take my advice and skip the drink-you can buy a 2 liter (or 2 if you go store brand) for what they charge!

I love the hot drinks video, when I worked at Wendys our whole crew used to sing the song but replaced the words "Hot Drinks" with something a little more XXX rated.

You left out the "White,Red,Green!" rap video on how to make sandwiches, was the Cheesiest! I was a Wendy's Manager back then, and we had to show all new hires these videos and then TEST them on it. You would be surprised at the number of failures we had, but, then again probably not,it IS fast food.

"White! Red...Greeeeen!" I was totally looking for that one, too! I also remember the "Working at Wendy's" one ("We're glad your working at Wendyyyy's!") where the workers popped up from behind the counter playing saxophones.

Yeah its cheeeeeezey and not the '80s at all, but you need to remember that the bigger the cup the more ice that needs to be stuffed into it. See back then there weren't refills so the first drink was it. Fill a 20 ounce with ice so it would hold 6.9 ounces of drink. That is how Wendy's and ilk made the profit. Even though the soda was chilled and didn't need ice(?)didn't matter. Fill the cup with ice. Best thing to do at fasty food restaurant is not drink at all. Eat the cheep food and don't fill your stomache with expensive filler.

So true about the ice! McDonald's always adds ice into their orange juice, which I hate. My Dad once asked for orange juice with NO ice - and they give him only a half filled cup to compensate for the fact that there was no ice!

Well, I do enjoy me a good screwdriver, and that requires ice.

where is your mcdonalds? the policy is to never fill it with ice because the ice melt and dilutes the juice!
the oj is even dispensed from a machine that premeasures it to fill the cup, and if there was ice in the cup, it would overfill.
next time tell them to review their o&t manual before they try to pull something like giving you half a cup of oj again! id get a refund and dump the half cup of juice on them. but im tired of wasting my time with deeduhdees so whatever.. lol

Look who they hire. The cash register has to tell them how much change to give. Duh!!!

Because lord forbid that Wendy's (or any other establishment that handles your money) implements "idiot-proof" technology to keep you from getting ripped off. I know that some people in this world like you want to waste everyone's time by making the poor sucker behind the register do all the math in front of you, but fortunately, you are in the minority.

As a multi-unit manager for a restaurant chain I can tell you honestly that actually the reason for giving the cashier the exact amount they should give back is not so much because the cashier cannot count the change back but to prevent theft. Cashiers cannot steal as easily when that is shown. It is also recorded in the electronic journal in the back of the house computer.

to gr8bsn, in case you didn't understand my comment. It meant that the employees are too stupid to know how much change to give or do math. You must work there.

Not everyone who works for fast food companies such as Wendy's, is incompetent or stupid. I used to work for Burger King until I became a manager there. I worked there because it was a job, and it paid the bills. Not everyone can afford to go to college (even with all the financial aid programs out there. You can't just think about the now, but how it will impact you in the future as far as your finances go.) For some, like myself, the career path I currently want to take, college will have little effect on. I am a musician, and plan to eventually make it, though the chances are slim. Because I work minimum wage jobs to pay my rent and keep food on the table, that does not make me stupid. So please try and cut your arrogance down to a minimum. Thank you.
