It's an action-packed edition of Best of the Week on Vimeo, complete with household objects fighting to the death, an armadillo-hunter madcap and approximately one bajillion stars and meteors.

The animation is almost too good to be on the internet and the first clip coming up is probably the best excuse you'll have all day to use the word "galactic."

For those of us who can barely see a star in the sky amid all the street lights and smog and marriage proposal skywriting, this video is a real spectacle. It's a short time-lapse clip of the Perseid Meteor Shower and the galactic core of the Milky Way as seen from Joshua Tree National Park, about as peaceful and smog-free as it gets. Dilla co-directors Mikey Sauls, Mike Klim, Stanley Moore and Dominic Pallotta are still students at Ringling College of Art and Design, but already they've got pretty serious animation chops and know how to tell a gripping story without dialogue. Bonus points for a great soundtrack and cute animals.
