MySpace, Steven Slater
If you've been anywhere near a news source this week, you're already familiar with Stephen Slater. He's the JetBlue flight attendant who dramatically quit his job after being cursed out by a passenger and getting hit in the head with luggage.

He got on the plane's PA system and announced, "To the f-----g a--hole who told me to f--k off, it's been a good 28 years. I've had it. That's it." He then grabbed two beers and escaped via the inflatable emergency slide. Needless to say, he was an instant star on the internet.

Graphics, videos, three separate theme songs, and even a Free Steven campaign have hit the web, as Steven's stunt goes viral. We don't know what will happen to him as a result of his daring escape, but whatever he does next, the web will have his back.

Check out all the Steven Slater/JetBlueGuy ephemera we could track down, below.
In case you aren't caught up on the timeline of events in Steven's intrepid bailout via the emergency slide, this weird Taiwanese CG graphic will explain the whole thing. Bonus points for the action movie soundtrack: did they get Steven Slater confused with Steven Seagal?

The High Definite
JetBlueGuy even has multiple theme songs, all entitled "The Ballad of Steven Slater." One is by Jonathan "Song-a-Day" Mann (Warning: massive profanity, because Mann references Steven Slater's swear-laced tirade before he left the plane.)
A less profane Ballad of Steven Slater is by two guys called Astro Zombie and Cortex on Metafilter, and you can find it on this thread. There's no video (yet), but it's equally amazing. I especially dig Cortex's Ben-Folds-esque vocals.

Jimmy Fallon got in on the Ballad of Steven Slater phenomenon, too. Here's his version of the song.
Steven also has some meme crossover with another recent job-quitter, Jenny the Whiteboard Girl. Brilliant! (via Best Roof Talk Ever.)

In another meme-tastic mashup, Steven Slater meets Haters Gonna Hate. (Check out our Haters Gonna Hate guide, in case you're not familiar.)
Here's a news photo of Steven Slater's boyfriend shooing reporters and fans away from their house this morning. According to the New York Daily News, "Cops found him in bed with his boyfriend when they arrived to arrest him at a beachfront home in the Rockaways with a porch overlooking the Atlantic Ocean."
And finally, there's a Free Steven Slater campaign, so you can support this contemporary folk hero.
