Video games are fun because they take us to a whole new and often fantastical world in which we can pretend to be someone totally different. The alter ego isn't usually your average banker, either -- the characters we choose have powers and abilities we could only dream of having in real life, and live in a colorful world filled with mystery and boss battles. However, some creators clearly didn't get the memo when they made these really, really boring sounding video games.

Did the person who "wrote" this article ever actually play Yoshi's Cookie or did they just assume it was a boring game from the title? That's one of the best party puzzle games out there, and it's still being released to modern consoles. Personally, I hate it because I stink out loud at it, but I've never played a faster-paced multiplayer in my life. Boring it ain't.

I don't think he played Math Blasters in school either because it was a whole lot better than the alternative. And personally I was a big fan of SimAnt when I was younger because it was simple but it was fun in its own way.

I dont think Harvest Moon should be on this list either. It was a fairly addictive game that had multiple later versions. It also gave rise to hundreds of other farming games like Farm Frenzy, farmcraft, etc. Someone had to like the genre.

Does AOL have an issue with biblr games also???

Yeah, this guy definitely has a beef. The Bible is full of adventure stories. To say that 'Bible' and 'adventure' don't go together demonstrates gross ignorance. Of course, he may simply dislike Christianity and look at this list as a chance to take a swipe at the religion without admitting it. Juvenile.

Seriously, this list was made by someone who spent an hour googled goofy-sounding names and has no idea how fun or successful Harvest Moon (sprawling several systems), Yoshi's cookie or half of these games are. Dude, go do your homework and try again because these fail. And shame on AOL for linking such a lousy list.

seriously wtf. sim ant was the shit, and so was yoshis cookie. up till that point I was half entertained by his captions, but the appearance of these two titles side by side destroyed any credibility the author has as one worthy of deeming any game as boring. Fool seriously just compared sim ant to "sim brickwall" which he (if it existed) probably didnt play and just judged by the name and cover art.

Is this an article about titles that are supposed to sound boring, or games that are actually boring? I really do not know. Perhaps you just have a thing against children's education, golf, chess, and the Bible? Yoshi's Cookie is definitely a great puzzle game and I still enjoy playing Anticipation. And by the way, a black bass is actually a dull green color.

I agree with Mikey in that Yoshi's Cookie was *not* boring. And since when is aerobics a "game". It's not and it never claimed to be. Go outside you say? That just goes to show that Nintendo knew a long time ago that we gamers are too lazy to get off our asses and go outside.

Re-reading that opening paragraph, I see: "...when they made these really, really boring sounding video games."
Boring sounding, hmm?
Besides the fact that "boring-sounding" needs a hyphen, an excellent way to lose geek cred is by pretending you had any in the first place. Next time, play the games instead of making snap judgments about the box art.

List fail!
Harvest Moon, Panic Restaurant, SimAnt, Yoshi's Cookie, Math Blasters, and hell.. even Bible Buffet are all really fun games.
Plus most of the other "Christian" family games on the list are at least worth playing for sheer comedic value, esp. Super 3D Noah's Ark and Bible Adventures.

I can't believe you tried to make me laugh instead of exhaustively researching each of these titles. As a person who takes everything on the internet completely seriously, I am appalled! APPALLED, I say!

No one is saying he should have played all of these games for eighty hours each and interviewed players who bought them. They're just saying HE SHOULD HAVE PLAYED THEM. Period. And as for trying make us laugh, the key word is "trying". And he failed, horribly.
