While the rest of the Internet sat in our cozy desk chairs and stared at memes, YouTuber WalkUSA got up and walked across these old United States. The team's cheeky but inspiring stop motion video shows the walker, Mike, starting his journey in New York just below the Brooklyn Bridge and making stops in Washington DC, Mount Rushmore, Chicago, and a plethora of other iconic US spots before arriving at his destination, the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco. Phew, that's about 3,000 miles!

But fear not, armchair travelers! Mike was actually escorted by a driver for this journey, and hopped out only to walk across select cities the team passed through, not the actual entire journey. By car, Mike and teammate Blake clocked in what Google Maps would consider roughly a 2 or 3-day ride; that same ride by foot would have taken a leisurely 39 days.

If you've got plans for your own 40-day-tour, WalkUSA's Google Map lists Mike's route, as well as teammate Blake's favorite stops along the way.

Here are the team's thoughts on a little Nevada town.

And here's commentary from an early leg of the journey in which Philly Cheesesteak is WalkUSA's sandwich of choice.

On their YouTube channel you can also watch a Behind-the Scenes and get a little background on the Woodstock, NY residents who enjoy Leo Tolstoy and manual transmissions when they're not walking impossible journeys.

Update: Team WalkUSA sat down with ABC News and shed a little light on their timeline and sponsor
