Bags, like every fashion accessory, have turned from simply 'useful' to stylish and competitively cool. Not only do they carry stuff, but bags can now do things like transform into a full-sized bicycle or scare the living crap out of anyone who doesn't know the shiny, enormous beetle on your back isn't really alive. Here are 28 weird and crazy backpacks.
"How to Annoy People."
Bulletproof backpack.
The silent guitar.
Ghostbusters Proton Pack.
Space packs.
Hiking pack.
Where's the screen?
Impressive, but who wants to be the dude at the picnic with two wine bottles sticking out of your side like rockets? On second thought...
Vaderpack.
Traveling dog hotel.
Just don't get it wet (while you're wearing it, at least).
Snuggly.
Scary.
Pack that turns into a bike.
Solar backpack.
Looks uncomfortable. Also, sitting down = a chore.
The weight of the world (which contains some notebooks, pens, an iPod and a bag of nachos) on his shoulders.
Parasite pack.
Make the dog do the work!
Buttpack.
Macpack.
Why even put straps?
You could totally hide this in the laundry basket to scare mom.
Basketball backpack.
Fancy!
Lego backpack.
Corona pack which can only fit Coronas upside-down.
Picnic pack.

I linked in to this article expecting some really wild and ugly designs. Got that, but found a number of them to be interesting and amusing. If I were into backpacking, there's several I wouldn't mind being seen with.

The Parasite pack, Lego pack and Nintendo pack would sell like crazy for kids, if you kid goes to a school that doesn't require see-thru packs, that is! Really like the picnic packs! As for a hiking pack, I think the ones with the huge aluminum frames should be designed so they still support the weight of the pack, are comfortable to haul on your back, but... convert into a sleeping cot at night! I think the design would be easy to come up with. You know, a two piece apparatus that isn't any heavier than the old hiking pack. You remove your filled pack, hang it in a tree, then convert your aluminum/canvas FRAME into a cot! Believe you me, a cot is going to come in more handy to me on the trail than that bicycle pack!

Many of these are just downright stupid. A few are good ideas such as the picnic ones or the basketball one or the one with all the gadgets. However, ones like the butt or some others are just downright insulting to the person who has to sit or walk behind the person carrying these. Besides, I'd like to know who has the time to sit around and come up with this stuff anyway!

Am I the only one who finds these creative and fun? Why do people have to be so critical all the time. If you don't like 'em, don't buy 'em!

I own the "bulletproof" backpack, and while it's not really bulletproof, It's amazing.
It's sold as a slimline laptop case and I use it everyday. I can fit my jacket over it without bulge (cuz who want's to look like "that guy" who brings his laptop everywhere. BEING that guy isn't a problem though...)

Am I the only one who thought of the Doctor Who episode "Turn Left" while seeing the bug backpack? It's almost exactly like the bug on Donna Noble's back.
