This week's Best of the Week on Vimeo is late. Like, super late. However, don't jump the gun thinking that there aren't a plethora of outstanding videos on the service. Why are you so quick to judge? This week we visit Iceland's infamous volcano, witness some senseless crime and meet some adorable little (and aptly named) animals.

Note: Until the end of June, Best of the Week on Vimeo is moving to Friday. Plan your life accordingly!

Two Inches to the Right by Matt Frodsham
Brought to life by a mixture of hand rotoscoped and 3D elements created in Photoshop, Cinema 4D and After Effects is a poem inspired by true events from writer Mat Lloyd. Following a random attack, Lloyd wrote the poem in recovery trying to make sense of the ignorance involved in harming a stranger for no reason. Other than the fact that the attackers are ignorant, that is.

Iceland, Eyjafjallajökull - May 1st and 2nd, 2010 by Sean Stiegemeier
The volcano that virtually no one can pronounce is getting so much play in the press and online that it might make Time Magazine's 2010 "Most Influential People" list. (Volcanoes are people, right?) On the final leg of his journey to Iceland, director Sean Stiegemeier captures some fantastic images of Eyjafjallajökull, something few have been able to do since it first erupted.

The Bug by Yongsub Song
While the storytelling in The Bug is quite confusing, it's a very cool concept. If video game characters had their own personality and will, how would they react to their setting? It's an interesting concept with some outstanding animation created for this thesis project.

F.an / Two Minutes by Maxime Bruneel
Using stop-motion and some great tunes from F.an, director Maxime Bruneel creates various 3D images using layered images and expert editing. We know, you can throw a stone into the Vimeo pond and hit a hundred stop-motion videos, but this one does a great job of playing with your eyes.

Meet the Sloths by Amphibian Avenger
Comedian Daniel Tosh has a joke that it's impossible to frown while riding a wave runner and we'd like to point out that it's impossible not to go "Awww" while watching this video. If you somehow manage it, we're sorry. Clearly you've lost your soul. It's so adorable that we don't mind featuring it on Urlesque again!
