The 'Single Ladies' dance will never die. It will live forever in all media: television, radio and especially online, where video of good people doing their best Beyonce impression continues to be a thing.
What's weird, though, is when scantily-clad little girls perform a rousing performance of the song that's so impressive, it's almost inspiring. Their astounding ability to move together at breakneck speed combined with the gale forces with which they so powerfully demonstrate every move is truly something to behold. And, thus, the internet listeneth.
One question remains, however: aren't these very single ladies a wee too young to be dressed like Cajun streetwalkers (no offense, kids)?
UPDATE: Our sister site PopEater reports on the controversy: A rep for the dance contest says there was "nothing provocative" about this performance, and one parent says the girls got their moves from the "Alvin and the Chipmunks" sequel, not Beyoncé's video.

RACE SHOULD NOT BE A FACTOR. IT`S ABOUT YOUNG KIDS IN SKIMPY SEXY COSTUMES . THE DANCE AND SONG WAS NOT INTENDED FOR THE YOUNG

I just watched the video again without the music and it doesn't seem as bad. I don't agree that wearing skimpy outfits is okay because of the age of these young girls. They are to young to make the right decisions. It doesn't matter if you were a previous dancer and you had to wear skimpy outfits, that still doesn't make it okay. Change is needed!! Parents need to stand up for their kids and say that this is unacceptable! They should have a level of costume to correspond with their level of age. If adults want to wear skimpy clothes and shake their butts like a stripper..Let them! These kids are TO YOUNG!! They have dress codes for a reason.

These girls have dancing talent, but they lost the chance to be showcased for THAT, when adults(?) in their lives blindly ( yes, blindly) approved of the bordello outfits and straight-out-of-stripping 101 (impossible to deny) moves SOME of the moves were. I would love to see their hard work shown in SPORTY (this is a sport, is it not?) clothes and athletic, lively moves. If all the parents with little children involved in this sport demanded a costume change, who would PROTEST it? Anyone who would should become suspect of questionable inspirations( the nicest way to put it). Have costumes, have fun with moves and songs...but don't defend THIS sorry spectacle. These girls were denied the chance to shine for their talents alone.

Gwendy,
The cheerleaders are not 9 years old. I don't think that taking one borderline activity and using it as the compass for another borderline activity is a good idea. That is how we slip incrementally into acceptance. These beautiful and talented girls could have done a routine that was age appropriate. The adults failed them. We should not sexualize children.

We all know that Beyonce got these moves from Bob Fosse's choreography... a WHITE man directing WHITE women dancing. This is not "black dancing". Look: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3tWp_2S-ijs

Way inapproiate!!! If we start our young people out, like this, what are they going to look like by the time they are teens. There will always be people that think it is cool to be this liberal; but, as for myself, I would just as soon as not have our daughters made so aware of their sexuality.

I live in a town where the police tells us that sexual offenses against children has gone up 90% over last year. I am a dance teacher and at every competition this year, at least one sex offender was arrested for inappropriate comments to the young dancers, hanging around the girls' dressing rooms, and one man had been wanted for 15 years for parole violation (as a registered sex offender who -- OOPS! -- forgot to register). Undoubtedly these young ladies are fine dancers but we must protect our little ones. They are children.

The lesson in this is that it doesn't matter how smart or talented you are. When you dress like that, no one will ever take you seriously. At any age.
That being said, their AGE is a more contributing factor in this than the fact they are DANCERS. Dancers wear these costumes, yes. But it is AFTER they have learned the significance of their bodies, the meaning of each gyration, and the implication of bare skin. AFTER a dancer has learned those things, which can only come with puberty and time, the dancer may CHOOSE to wear those costumes and dance those moves. Otherwise, I'd hold the coaches and parents accountable for a major lapse in judgment.
