Look at me
This week's edition of Best of the Week on Vimeo is a little in your face. You should be reading this feature on a regular basis. We find it works best cuddled up in front of a warm fire, grasping at a mug of hot coco -- no, not that CoCo -- but in case you've missed it, this one is for you. From poetry interpretations to great looking hair, this is the edition of our weekly look at Vimeo we don't think you should (or can) miss.

Television is a Drug by Beth Fulton
"Don't look over there. Look at me!" As an interpretation of Todd Alcott's poem 'Television,' director Beth Fulton does a good job of showcasing the madness attached to the modern age of media. Television has evolved throughout the last decade, featuring a slew of reality based shows that show us how horrific our fellow man can be. Wait, did we say "evolved"? We mispronounced "Somebody please make it stop."

Outlier by Mondial Creative Labs
To describe what happens in Outlier would be to completely ruin it, so allow us to be vague. If the end of the world was upon us, how would we respond? Would we cower, become maniacal or search for the truth? In this short film, directed by Lucas Krost and stunningly written, shot and edited in 48 hours, we get a look at how some would respond to word that the end was near. Or nigh. Whichever word you feel sounds more harrowing.

Hair Conditioner by Jonathan Gurvit
Sometimes we need money in a pinch. Sometimes we need that money for food and water. Sometimes it's necessary to relieve debt. But sometimes, in special cases, we need that money for absolutely asinine ideas that you've only ever seen in the movie Dumb & Dumber. It'll make sense when you watch it.

Toy Soldier by Animatório
In this advertisement for the Cartoon Network, a broken down toy soldier struggles across a room with purpose gleaming from his plastic eyes. (Can plastic gleam?) If you're older, the imagery and idea will resonate more with you. If you're young, we're sorry -- this video does not have any of the quick MTV cuts or images of the inexplicably famous Kesha that you're used to. What's that? It's spelled Ke$ha? We couldn't even begin to tell you how little we care.

Cupcake Cannon by kamp grizzly
Have you ever wanted to fire cupcakes out of a cannon and into the mouths of people while recording it in slow motion? Really? Kind of a weird fantasy world you live in, but, anyway, you're in luck. That's what this video (previously covered on Urlesque) is all about. Cupcakes. High powered firing devices. It's all in here. Seek help.
