As floodwaters begin to recede and emergency workers pick up the pieces, intrepid filmmakers are documenting the Nashville flood and its effects. Some are informational, others are incredibly moving. Here are two of the most notable videos after the break.
The following footage is a mesmerizing look at the flood from multiple perspectives: trickling streams, wide floodwaters and even great sheets of rain.
This video documents the devastation at the Opryland Hotel.

i am starting to think that if nashville wasnt a liberal city the national news coverage would be more intense. most people are the country dont understand how bad it truely is in nashville. i was there this weekend and barely got my family out......it is really bad. GOD bless the music city and show your glory!

For all your folks up north that usually don't give two hoots about South Louisiana and the Gulf coast every time we get hammerned by a hurricane or tropical maybe now you feel our misery just a little. Things can and do get bad real quick when you are faced with flooding. I've stayed in that hotel before and know those folks are going to have a tough go of it but like time it will pass.

I live n memphis and we had bad flooding here but Nashville is way worse and its still pretty bad here. Bet Nashville has to take care of it by themselves without FEMA'S help or the presidents. They need a lot of help to get it cleaned up there. God bless them. This storm has caused some major flooding.

You are right Mary, we need to help each other. There is one comment you received that I resent very highly. That is the one from Tim, talking about the people up north. I would like to say that we have our disasters up here also, but we don't hear anybody blasting the south because of them. In fact, we have lots of southern-ers now living up here because the north is so beautiful and caring. I'm really sad about the Opryland Hotel. I have been there, slept there many night, visited all the extras, took a ride of the flotila, eaten the food and walked many yards to my hotel room in one of the alcoves. It was absolutely beautiful then but the devistation I see now is heartbreaking. Will always remember my time at the Opryland Hotel.

I'm really hurt by some of the comments on this page. I was born and raised in Nashville and had a second home on the coast of Mississippi. I'm sad to hear people from New Orleans saying pretty much they are glad we feel what they felt and saying atleast it's not that bad. I was hit by both storms and that one comment made it sound like no Middle Tennesse people helped after Katrina and that is crap. And I'm sorry the smaller towns after been mentioned much but no one really has. Just like the smaller towns in LA weren't talked about after Katrina. The use a big city so people that have been there know where these things are happening especially if they have visited before. And Nashville isn't a liberal city that must be a joke. If Nashville was liberal don't you think Gore would have won in his own town oh wait he didn't. And even if Nashville was liberal that has nothing to do with the floods. Nashville I love you and we have to stay strong!!! God Bless You All

To Tim, Those of us up "north" who you claim did not give "two hoots" during Katrina, have sent thousands of dollars and people in the relief efforts to those affected by Katrina, and even through many are suffering under this economy, will continue to give and provide aid to not only those still recovering from Katrina, but to those around the nation who suffer the effects of a disaster.

I'm on the west coast and this article is the first bit of news I've had about the flooding...and I do keep up with the news. I understand the oil leak in the gulf and NY bomb suspect are big news right now, but I'd have thought the flooding would've at least made the top 3!

you think that is bad, they forgot the black neighbors too. they are just as bad as Opryland area; if not worst. However since it happen to the more wealthy people I guess we will have to wait too.

It is amazing that the people of middle TN can go threw so much and the rest of the nation is clueless, however as soon as the national news gets wind of the problems with the petroleum in the flood waters it will be an instant disaster and covered by all of the big time News Anchors. I did hear on Regis and Kelly this morning, Kelly gave us an honorable mention as Regis held up two little News Paper Clippings. This is what real news has come to. Double digit deaths and flooding so bad it has never been heard of and we get 15 seconds on a mid morning show. That's ok Nation. We are self sufficient and capable. We will clean this up without any complaints and be happy to see you when you come visit. This because we are the people of the Best Area in the World to live!

I second that notion. We are in Clarksville, about an hour from Nashville, and we too have complete devistation. No one cares what is going on here, or in surrounding cities such as Erin where the ENTIRE town went under water. I have one way to and from my house, not that there is anywhere to go from here. There is no gasoline to be found, our stores are running low on food, and there's currently no such thing as entertainment. We are not a small town either! I guess if someone sticks a bomb in their underwear and blows up an under water car we MIGHT, just MIGHT, make some sort of news.... but that is still highly unlikely.... oh, but make sure that all of us flood victims continue to send our money and support to Haiti, Chile, and China.. because we all know they need it WAY more than we do. At least we can count on FEMA to bring us some tainted fish back from China, and the Red Cross will bring our children lead base painted toys to play with when it is all over..
On a serious note- I am still thanking God everyday that myself, my husband, and our three beautiful children are alive and well. Material things will be replaced, our lives could not.

when they say "nashville" they mean in and around nashville. get over yourselves. thats what they always do. they arent going to list every single city that was affected! theyre hardly telling about it in the first place. so just quit. and all you people talking about not having any form of entertainment and stuff...your on a computer arent you? it could be way worse.

I'm from Clarksville, too...no gas, running low on food and especially on water. A large part of Tennessee was affected by this tragedy and for some reason no one thinks about the areas surrounding Nashville. The Cumberland overflowed into the actual town yesterday or the day before that, and then there's flooding where all the tributaries are as well. We can't drive anywhere because water blocks most of the roads, there's a curfew out while they try to clean up, and now they're talking about how the water might be contaminated
