Candy wrappers aren't very green. They're made from a mix of materials, which means it's expensive and difficult to derive anything of value from them after their initial use. On the other hand, easily recyclable items like plastic bottles are made from a single material. Since we separate them from the rest of our trash, they're also much easier to recover.

While it may take a bit more effort to reuse your candy wrappers than just chucking them in a blue bin, the payoff can also be much greater. For example, who wants to paint the town red in a dress made out of soda bottles? A dress made out of candy wrappers, on the the other hand, well, you can judge for yourself.

While the Mary Jane dress is extremely cool, I am a bit hesitant to call it green. Making people eat a candy they wouldn't normally eat so you can use the wrappers to make a dress seems wasteful. It would be like having my whole family drink bottled water (when they normally drink tap water) so I can make a sculpture. Now, digging through the trash to find candy wrappers, well that is a different story.

Reply to post before, There are still a alot of people that LOVE Mary Jane candies. If not they would not be in the stores still. Just because your family does not like them, does not mean other are the same. Please open your eyes and mind and see that there are all kinds or people around that eat and or drink all kinds of things...
