Ah, how we basked in the glory of yesterday's lighthearted prank. See, all day yesterday, Urlesque featured posts from a "guest contributor," none other than TGIF's Steve Urkel, and occasionally his suave alter-ego Stefan Urquelle. For a day, we became "Urkelesque."

And then, we got a call from the man himself, Jaleel White! It turns out his "douchebag homies" bombarded his inbox with links to some of our posts all day yesterday, while he was just trying to enjoy a fresh snowfall in Aspen on vacation. Jaleel was a better sport than we could have imagined, though. We had a good laugh and talked with him a bit about his current projects.

Jaleel's buddies shot a video of him browsing Urkelesque. After the jump, a delicious "gotcha" moment:

Jaleel's in Aspen decompressing after an exhausting video shoot for his new web series, Fake It Till You Make It, a comedy that deals with the seedy realities of Hollywood's hustling bottom feeders. Jaleel describes it as a more realistic version of Entourage, less about private jets and bottle service and more about guys who move to Hollywood hoping to become big stars and end up doing the most low-down things to make it happen, "Where people are only nice to you as long as they need you."

Jaleel plays Reggie Culkin, a former child star trying to make a big comeback while working as an image consultant, mobile notary, celebrity trainer, etc.

You see these flashy guys in Hollywood with hot girls and no real job and you're like, 'How do they pull this off?'
Jaleel's character isn't too far removed from his own story. Culkin's childhood stardom resulted from a popular family sitcom called "I Got Dibs." I'll let you guess his character's catchphrase (Hint: it's not "Got any cheese?").

Jaleel is enthusiastic about the potential of web video entertainment.
It's going to be the future. It's the ultimate freedom. It's like making a pilot -- you can use the craftsmanship and the skills you've built up over the years and you put it out there. Then you tell the audience, "You tell us if this is good." That changed the game. Other stuff would just die on some executive's desk. This is more like putting out a mixtape. You just have fun with it and let the fans decide. It won't be long before TV has to answer to the web.

Jaleel's also an active Twitter user
, though his first exposure to the platform wasn't pleasant.
A few months ago a buddy of mine told me that I had an imposter. I had enough of that. You can't ignore the web. A lot of us have tried.
He ended up having to contact Twitter management to confirm his identity. Once he ousted the fake Jaleel, he started tweeting regularly.

Look out for Fake It Till You Make It, written and produced by its star, Jaleel White, and featuring guest stars Wayne Brady, Debbie Allen and UFC's Rashad Evans.

Thanks to Jaleel for being such a great sport. Did we do that?

We couldn't resist.
