Since MTV's long-running show 'True Life' covers just about every compulsion known to man, it should come as no surprise that it would tackle digital addictions. Pretty much everyone nowadays is plugged in, but some people's plugs are a little stickier than others. As you'd expect, these people cause a lot of digital drama.

Which brings us to two featured couples: Nicole and George, and Devin and Susie. Stay tuned for the recap and highlights of Jersey couples screaming at each other about Facebook and threesomes.

True Life - Digital Drama Clips

Nicole and George's relationship started as most do -- via a brief meeting at a New York City bridge-and-tunnel bar and then a subsequent Facebook relationship.

It makes sense why Nicole would go for George. He's GStar, a self-proclaimed superstar (on Facebook). The biggest problem between these two is that they don't trust what the other does on Facebook and cell phones.

Nicole gets mad that George goes to strip clubs and interacts with what she dubs "Facebook skanks." As far as we can tell, Facebook skanks can be defined as girls who look exactly like Nicole but are not currently dating George. Nicole interrogates George lawyer-style about wall posts regarding strip club trips. George IS always at the strip club. We're not here to judge, but maybe that's more a relationship problem than who posts something on a wall?

So, Nicole decides that she should date someone "who [doesn't] have hundreds of Facebook girlfriends." She picks up an unsuspecting dude from her school, LJ, and takes him on a date. All the while, he is terrified of getting into an accident due to her excessive and constant texting. The date continues with the hitch that he doesn't want her to keep bbming and texting, but she can't help it.

After her date, she gives George another try and she whines "I'm so sick of being criticized for my cell phone. I get a high off of being on my cell phone at all times...I could stop at any time if I wanted to. I just don't want to stop." Spoken like a true addict, Nicole.

Nicole's obsession is here to stay as long as she can get information she needs from it. One of George's sage gym buddies posits "how do you deny Facebook? Facebook tells all." Indeed, gym buddy. Indeed.

Over on the west coast, Susie can't deal with Devin's non-stop phone and email usage. Susie is from Alaska, don't you know. And they don't have internet up there. So when she started dating Devin, a mainland American, she was in for a surprise. When she's bowling, he's texting. When she's talking, he's emailing. When she's slitting her wrists, he's bbming. Okay, so that last part didn't happen but we wouldn't be surprised if it did!

Luckily, Susie convinces Devin to go to therapy where he admits that clients and phones are his life. Things change for the couple when Susie finds out she's pregnant and has to move from Orange County to San Diego. With a little goading from his clients, Devin pledges to work on his addiction. True Life saves relationships!

We're sure that tons of people are overly plugged in, but these people truly take it to new levels. The internet can be a fun place, but MTV taught us to draw the line somewhere. There's more at True Life on MTV.com, which you can access from your laptop, MacBook, cell phone or backup cell phone.
