In an age where Sex And The City remains an undeniably ubiquitous cultural phenomenon, there have been a truckload of tricksters out to capture the same oeuvre of single gals tearing up New York City with sassy, sexy finesse. And it's BO-RING.

That's where Abbi Jacobson and Ilana Glazer's web series Broad City comes in. The two adorable girls provide a Woody Allen-esque peek into what it means to not model oneself after a Carrie, Samantha, Charlotte, or Miranda, instead choosing to BE A HUMAN. In what many are still scared to label as "real" New York, Ilana and Abbi navigate the social scene in 2010 with less grace and charm and more self-deprecation and super-awkwardness. Unlike Sex And The City, here Manolos are replaced with busted sneakers and "Girls' Night Out" is replaced with an awkwardly public same-sex kiss beneath the mistletoe.

Consider it one small step for woman, one giant leap for smart girls.
