If your job description includes being eaten by a raptor at center court on a nightly basis, at the very least you probably won't ever be accused of blabbering on about your boring job all the time.
As Canada's one remaining NBA team (and the only team that has the distinction of representing the NBA's founding city) the Toronto Raptors have an obligation to distinguish themselves from the pack. Either that or somebody's got a fetish.
But they're not the only team with a ravenous mascot. This bear chomps a cheerleader near the end of the video:
Eventually the cheerleaders fought back and rescued their teammate from Cluth the Bear:

First let me say, I know this about hot chicks being swallowed by mascots, and the premise of the story is about them. Sort of a "forget the facts and check out the chicks", but I hate inconsistencies.
What were they smoking when they wrote this article? The NBA was founded in New York in 1946 as the BAA (Basketball Association of America) and changed its name in 1949 when it absorbed/merged with the NBL (National Basketball League)which was formed from the Midwestern Basketball conference that was started in 1935 by General Electric, Firestone and Goodyear. The NBA didnt expand into canada until 1993, and the first game that either Canadian team (the Grizzlies were the other team)played was in 1995. Far from being the founding city of the NBA almost 50 years ealier. The first Canadian Pro team was the Pacific Coast Basketball League's Vancouver Hornets from Vancouver BC. They played in the PCBL during its 2 seasons starting in 1946. The history is available on many websites, one needs nothing more then google to fact check this story.

No, the NBA was not founded in Canada. It's first game ever, under the BAA was the Knickerbockers against the Toronto Huskies. Canada was part of the founding of basketball long before 1993
