On its own, a real life clown car is funny enough. Especially if it's a Beetle. But when those clowns get caught red handed (and red nosed) zipping through a speed trap, well that's downright newsworthy. Professional funnymen Frank Giesler and Paul Hochstrasser were on their way to a carnival in Switzerland when they were clocked doing more than 60 in a 45 mile per hour zone. Said one officer:

Speeding is no laughing matter, not even if you're wearing baggy trousers and a red nose....I suppose we should count ourselves lucky that the wheels and the bonnet didn't fall off.
