biggest waste of time? Not really.... unless you have no friends. Then it would be a waste of time... I wonder what it's like having NO friends. LoL ( when I say friends I mean people I know in the real world and hang out with or see from time to time )

If you don't like FB then don't use it, simple. I happen to love it and have gotten in touch with old elementary school through college friends. I use it daily and have a lot of fun with FB. On the other hand, if you have no friends, it would be a waste.

It is a place where I can leave my family a note. I can see what the other people in my family are doing. I can see what my friends at church are doing or if someone dies, I will know sooner than wait until Wed. night.

I agree for keeping up with family. But that Farmville and Mafia Wars and stuff are time suckers and people, not me, waste hours and hours each week on such a useless activity. They need a life.

When they discovered that a horse can be a means of travel they forgot about the dung left on the city streets by the horses. That is Facebook. An interesting way to travel but it sures leaves a lot of crap on its way.

Although I have pretty much abandoned Myspace, I agree with you concerning Myspace creativity. You can personalize your page to represent yourself; you can't do that on Facebook. That's why I didn't get rid of my Myspace page, I like making it look the way I want and representing my tastes, artistic preferences, etc. That's what's cool about the My site.
Also, I don't like the way they changed the main pages of My to look like Fb. That's not original.

I like being able to catch up with friends and family I don't see very often. We share pics of the kids, vacations; news about work or life; support one another in times of hardship and loss and cheer each other's successes. And here's there really big thing...if I don't want to share or read I simply don't log on!!
It's all about choice people. No one is forced to join.

Ask yourselves this?? what did you do to learn about family before facebook........call on the phone, send letters, cards even Christmas cards are an afterthought these days because of cell phones and puters...Its getting ridiculous....I mean c'mon, wearing your blue tooth into the grocery store to stand and discuss what brand of green beans you should buy or whatever. People have no communication and meanigful conversations anymore unless it is techno! Might as well be robots!

And you placed your message how? For someone anti-techno you picked a strange place to say it.

I am a grandmother that lives in another state than my grandchildren. Facebook makes it possible to view pictures of my family that I wouldn't get to see because time lapses and when I do get to see my grandchildren the pictures are forgotten. This way when they are put on facebook I see them imediately. Lot of good about facebook to keep up with family in another state.

1) I can't wait until the day that FB starts charging for the membership. Maybe then will the level of work, expected from employee's, come back up the level where they're supposed to be,(Stupid waste of company time) and
2) It's going to be interesting to watch the number of suicides committed if the WW web ever goes for more than an hour or two because of the stupid people addicted to FB.
My wife came home from work the other day all mad because her company blocked all the employee's access to the FB network on company computers. FINALLY! I kept warning her they were going to catch up to all the waste going on, that she was part of.
